Actually, I didn't change the dog's name. I did do some formatting updates, but the dog's name was changed by an anonymous user (70.81.175.177) before I ever saw the article. Bearcat 21:59, 29 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your contribution to the October Crisis article I would refer you to the following insertion by me on Talk:October Crisis that states:

Removed incorrect statements on the War Measures Act inserted on 20:58, 29 July 2005 Marc paquin that stated:

  • Under the War Measures Act, 497 residents of Quebec who were considered supporters or sympathizers of the FLQ as well as others dubbed radicals (union leaders, teachers, artists, etc...), were subsequently arrested and held according to the law for questioning, without charge, trial or contact with the outside world for up to a 3 weeks in the case of 343 of them. 62 were eventualy charged with various offences although only 20 were found guilty.

I replaced yor incorrect statement with information from the McGill University website [1] of senior Quebec cabinet Minister during the Crisis time, and McGill University Law Professor, William Tetley. --- Yours sincerely, Marc Allaire 15:40, 4 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Joual

[edit]

Marc,

I'm all for having the Joual page, however, as I stated, I don't know that the inclusion of some words that are prevalent across (at least) Eastern France and Swiss-Romande is necessarily a good way to show-case the sociolect. I think that the page has value, but needs further enlargement to better showcase the divergence of Joual from French.

Is this what your Laurentien is based on? Or is it the combination of Joual and Québecois?

Liste des émissions de télé québécoises

[edit]

Bonjour Marc,

-- Mathieugp 14:53, 29 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

-- Mathieugp 13:25, 1 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Je pense qu'on peut garder le lien vers la liste des émissions québécoises si on ajoute aussi des liens vers les émissions d'autres pays (ou régions) francophones. -- Mathieugp 16:32, 4 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re:French ensigns

[edit]

Hi Marc - it didn't click until a couple of minutes ago that it was you (in case you haven't worked it out it's James here :) You're right - I hadn't considered that he was talking about plain ensigns, or that he was drawing a direct analogy to the use. Still, I think the page has enough in it that it can be saved - it just needs a drastic re-working and moving to a different name. I think it is worth mentioning somewhere in Wikipedia that a lot of countries do or did use varieties of flags which are of the same general model as the British ensigns (possibly coincidentally in some cases, but in others probably deliberately). Grutness...wha? 12:38, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Also, greater lebanon (and one or 2 others) are defaced tricolores themselves. I'm sorry if I sound difficult, I just don't see how drawing paralel where there weren't any is helpful."--Marc pasquin 13:04, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

Such "problems" are non-existant. The Jebel Druze flag is comparable to the British Sandwich Islands flag (todays USA State of Hawaii flag), and the Greater Lebanon flag is comparable to the British America Colonial Escutcheon 1701 Union Jack flag. There are parallels here, even though you and HOTR seem to refuse to acknowledge them. Vexillologists are supposed to have open-minds eh.

I'm open-minded, just not to the point that my brain would fall out. Kindly refrain from posting on my personnal talk page unless its something contructive.

Well that is a start. You are aware of British Heligoland are you not?

British Heligoland 1814-1890 Flag

http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/de-hg_gb.html

"During the British period (1814-1890) the canton with the union flag was frequently (usually?) added to the Heligoland tricolor. It was removed in 1890.
Roy Stilling, 15 December 1995
Horizontal tricolor green-red-white. In the canton, the British union jack. Heligoland was under British rule 1814-1890.
Norman Martin, 30 May 1998"

In other words, the French and British flags can be argued to have been constructed in the same fashion, and therefore your objection is negated.

Image Tagging Image:Ca-f-nu.gif

[edit]
Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Ca-f-nu.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.

Sorry to bother you with this. I uploaded your image on commons. I wanted the original image to be speedily deleted but some administrators prefer bureaucracy instead. --Voyager 12:29, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

La Belge Vie

[edit]

Bonjour Marc. --Liberlogos 03:22, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Wynyard-lower.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:49, 14 May 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MrHarper (talk) 22:49, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your upload of File:Ashfield train station.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution.
