License tagging for Image:Image-070309-moire-a5-a19-inclination-diagram.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Image-070309-moire-a5-a19-inclination-diagram.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:07, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Shape moiré

[edit]

Hi, Gabrielyan!

I notice that you recently wrote this article. It's very nice. But I'm wondering what really ought to be done with it, since we already have Moiré pattern, and also Line moiré, which somebody else is already trying to merge into the Moiré pattern article.

Is there a real good reason why we need three different articles on the same phenomenon? Thanks! DavidCBryant 15:20, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading this media, it's appreciated.

However, it would be nice if you could give some kind of indication as to what license the media is under. That way other people can be confident in making use of it for many varied purposes :)

Adding license information also helps prevent media you've put effort into creating from being deleted :)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
