Mynydd Graig Goch
[edit]Hi. Thanks for creating the page on Mynydd Graig Goch. However, I had to remove the entire section "New Welsh Mountain" as the text was a verbatim copy from the source site. That site's licensing terms (http://users.guardian.co.uk/help/article/0,,933909,00.html) are not compatible with the GFDL and therefore, the text cannot be used as-is on Wikipedia. Feel free to rewrite the text in your own words. Thanks. RedWolf (talk) 04:22, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Image:Craiggo.jpg missing description details
[edit]This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Foel Goch (Arenigs), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Foel Goch. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 16:40, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Mountain photos
[edit]I note that in both Glyder Fawr and Arenig Fawr you have replaced long established images with images of your own. In neither case is the replacement image an improvement on the original and it is noteworthy that the image of Glyder Fawr rocks was assessed on the image quality guidelines and given a Quality image rating. In general it is politic to add a new image into the image gallery and leave it up to independent editors to make the judgement as to which best conveys the essence of the mountain. Many editors would consider the promotion of ones own images just a little presumptious unless no other image exists or the existing one is of obviously poorer quality. Mrs Trellis (talk) 13:42, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
The images i added showed the mountain in better light. Glyder fawr picture was just a few rocks!
- Hmmm...... The image that you have used is very small, contains no EXIF data and is a view rarely seen of Glyder Fawr. Those "just a few rocks" is one of the iconic sights on Glyder Fawr and photos of it often include the distant sight of the train on the Snowdon Mountain Railway behind. Dare I ask whether you have actually walked over the Glyderau and how you can be so sure that "your" photo is the better of the two ? Might I also ask who actually took the photo and when ? It should all be on the description attributes but they are notable by their absence. Mrs Trellis (talk) 20:09, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
PS As to piles of rocks, I am bemused by the low resolution image Image:Craiggo.jpg, now how would I describe that......?Mrs Trellis (talk) 20:15, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
having walked every 2000ft mountain in wales, and rock climbed all over snowdnia, the alps and many other places, I think I should have more knowledge and experiance than most people on the Glyders. Dear, I ask if you have the same experience? The rocks on Glyder Fawr, are a popular feature, however, they are not even located on the summit. I thought my picture showed the mountains topography better, the whole thing as it were. I thought the rock feature would be better as an image on the page. btw the image of Mynydd Graig Goch is of the summit itself and also shows garnedd goch nicely behind it. I think it is better than a close up of 3 standing stones. As my changes have offended you for some reason I will remove everything I have added if it pleases you. I was only trying to further the information on wikipedia so people can find out about the Snowdonia summits quickly. SORRY
- No apology needed, I wasn't offended only curious. And for the record I have indeed walked over every mountain in Snowdonia and nearly all Marilyns in North Wales and have the luxury of a view of Tryfan and the Glyders from my bedroom window. I am also not opposed to your images provided that they good representative images, of good size, of good quality ,are well documented and preferably with their EXIF data intact. I do rankle when a good quality well documented large image is replaced with a much smaller undocumented image. Wikipedia needs some good quality images, preferably in Commons rather than Wikipedia itself. Regards Mrs Trellis (talk) 14:00, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
License tagging for File:Foel boeth.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Foel boeth.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:06, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Wikimedia Commons
[edit]I have noticed that you have a great library of images which you are graciously releasing under free licenses to be used in Wikipedia. I was wondering if you were aware of the Wikimedia Commons, which functions as a library of free images and media files for all Wikimedia projects (Wikipedia, Wiktionary, Wikibooks, etc, and in every language!). If your images are uploaded there, they can be used much more widely. They can still be accessed as easily in Wikipedia, with exactly the same syntax. (ESkog)(Talk) 17:55, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, they should be moved but they must be given honest source and licence details. See below. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:18, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
Honesty
[edit]You have uploaded File:Arenig fawr.jpg and claimed that "I created this work entirely by myself". But a bit-for-bit identical image appears as Geograph image 649542 where it is claimed that the photographer is Bill Rowley. Which image has the correct description?
Please see this list of your uploads. I have marked several others which are identical to Geograph. Furthermore this list is based on an incomplete index to Geograph - I suspect many more duplicates will emerge later.
Please explain yourself. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:18, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
File source problem with File:Lefn.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Lefn.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 18:06, 31 January 2012 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
