Templates for deletion
[edit]The consensus of the TfD debate was to delete the template. Because it will remove the licensing from your pictures to delete the template, I will wait for your okay (meaning the images no longer use the template to be deleted) to go through with the deletion. Let me know if there are any problems, RyanGerbil10(The people rejoice!) 05:18, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit]This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:ANFFLA-Logo.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:12, 7 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. First off, I apologize for the spam. You are receiving this message because you have indicated that you are in Southern California or interested in Southern California topics (either via category or WikiProject).
I would like to invite you to the Los Angeles edition of Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art, a photography scavenger hunt to be held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) on Saturday, February 28, 2009, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM. All photos are intended for use in Wikipedia articles or on Wikimedia Commons. There will be a prize available for the person who gets the most photos on the list.
If you don't like art, why not come just to meet your fellow Wikipedians. Apparently, we haven't had a meetup in this area since June 2006!
If you are interested in attending, please add your name to Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art#Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Please make a note if you are traveling to the area (train or plane) and need transportation, which can probably be arranged via carpool, but we need time to coordinate. Lodging is as of right now out of scope, but we could discuss that if enough people are interested.
Thank you and I hope to see you there! howcheng {chat} 23:53, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Helicopter-drop01.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Helicopter-drop01.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 21:59, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

Got any interest in designing User Boxes?
[edit]Hi. I'm up in Canada. I came across your page, somehow, while Web surfing. For one thing, I believe you and I have some overlapping interests, as I live amid a vast forested (and mountainous) region. And, though I've never been a fire lookout, I have volunteered for a lot of things in my region and community.
Besides being a volunteer yourself, you seem to have some avidity for User Boxes. I'm shooting in the dark by posting you here, but I'd like to pass ideas about a few new User Boxes on to someone who enjoys making them. I'm an editor — not talented or knowledgeable graphically (not creative in that way).
My ideas are for ones about: 1) Food Gardener ; 2) Handyman (or Handyperson) ; Community Volunteer (or simply Volunteer). As I have not located any such, I tend to think these do not yet exist. But I think they'd be good. What do you think? And, would you feel like making any of these?Joel Russ (talk) 16:40, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Senior Wikipedians
[edit]WikiProject Wikipedians aged 70 and older has been inactive for some time. The following three proposals may help invigorate this project.
- Change the name of this project to WikiProject Senior Wikipedians.[a]
- Open membership in this project to users who are at least 60 years of age and have made at least 50 edits in the past year.[b]
- Open supporting membership in this project to users who are less than 60 years old but have made at least 50 edits in the past year and support the goals of this project.[c]
Suggested goals for this project:
- To support collaboration and communication among members for the advancement and improvement of Wikipedia and the Wikimedia movement.
- To encourage older people, retired people, and soon-to-be-retired people to participate in Wikipedia both for the advancement of the encyclopedia and for their own personal enjoyment.
- To encourage older people to share their experience and expertise for the improvement of Wikipedia.
- To encourage older users to use their experience and expertise to help younger and less experienced users.
- To encourage participation in local and regional Wikimedia events.
- To sponsor Wikipedia meetings and classes at places where older people gather.
- To advocate for the elimination of ageism and sexism in Wikipedia and the Wikimedia movement.
Notes
- ^ The current name of this project, WikiProject Wikipedians aged 70 and older, is somewhat cumbersome and excludes participation by any users under the age of 70 years.
- ^ This current minimum age limit of this project is 70 years. A minimum age limit of 60 years should permit the participation of most retired users. The minimum activity level of 50 edits per year is arbitrary. A minimum activity level indicates continued interest. Members who do not meet the minimum activity level shall be moved to inactive status. Members who have died shall be moved to memorial status.
- ^ A new class of Supporting Members allows those users under 60 years to support the goals of the project. Users approaching the age of 60 years may wish to become supporting members in anticipation of reaching the minimum age limit for members.
Please add your suggestions for this project at Senior Wikipedians. Thank you, Buaidh talk e-mail 01:15, 10 July 2024 (UTC)
If you don't wish to receive any further information about Senior Wikipedians, please remove your username from our notice list. Thanks.
Elder Wikipedians
[edit]My proposal to make extensive changes to WikiProject Wikipedians aged 70 and older was a bust, primarily because many users felt that the term "Senior Wikipedian" implied a higher ranking Wikipedia membership. Therefore, I am making two less ambitious proposals:
- Proposal #1. Change the name of "WikiProject Wikipedians aged 70 and older" to "WikiProject Elder Wikipedians".
- Proposal #2. Drop the minimum age requirement to 60 years.
Please respond to Elder Wikipedians and let us know what you think of each of these proposals.
Thank you, Buaidh talk e-mail
If you don't wish to receive any further information about Elder Wikipedians, please remove your username from our notice list. Thanks.
