License tagging for File:Luckington from OS 1899 -1901 series map.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Luckington from OS 1899 -1901 series map.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 18:05, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

talk page etiquette
[edit]Hi, CenfusRex. I noticed you've been changing some talk page use of "Alternate" to "alternative" at Talk:Alternate successions to the English throne. In general, it's considered bad form to correct other people's comments, even when they are in error. In this case, the comments are not actually in error - one meaning of the adjective "alternate" is as a synonym for "alternative". john k (talk) 17:29, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
November 2019
[edit]This is your only warning; if you violate Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy by inserting unsourced or poorly sourced defamatory content into an article or any other Wikipedia page again, as you did at Lindsay Hoyle, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. [edit]Exhibit
[edit]To each his own, but "exhibit" to refer to the overall show is pretty common North American usage, attested to the 19th century. Its even a draft sense in the latest OED edition. I don't have any intention of reverting since either way is fine, but I felt compelled to speak in its defense. Sauzer (talk) 21:01, 22 February 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Curly apostrophes and quotation marks
[edit]Please do not use these and definitely do not change straight marks to curly ones. That is directly counter to Wikipedia's Manual of Style. Thanks! -- Fyrael (talk) 21:01, 30 June 2022 (UTC)

Hyphens
[edit]Hi! I don’t know if English is your first language or not, but generally this is not how hyphens are used, on Wikipedia or elsewhere in the language. Thanks. — Trey Maturin™ 21:48, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
