Good articles

[edit]

We're sorely lacking in these - just two featured and two good ones: Central Coast Mariners FC, Steve Bruce, Stuart McCall and Curtis Woodhouse. I know we're a bit thin on the ground these days but we should have a go at pushing some more into good at least. I've nominated 1889–90 Sheffield United F.C. season for good article and Sheffield United F.C. league record by opponent for featured list, mainly to test the water and see what comes up. We've talked about trying for GA for the main club article and with a bit more work that should be achievable. What we need though are suggestions for other articles we could try working on. Player articles are always difficult as I'm guessing that outside of the Blades info we have very little info on what they were up to at different clubs. So we're probably best off focussing on things like lists, season articles and matches - although it would be good to find some players that we could maybe elicit some help with from other editors. If we nominate some articles to work on and draw up a 'to do' list for each that should help. So any suggestions / ideas / thoughts / interest? Bladeboy1889 (talk) 10:31, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'll just clear the tumbleweeds out of the way... I've found Kyle Nix as good article as well (straw clutching there) and I've also nominated Ched Evans for GA (after spending a few hours going through reffing everything.) Looking at a couple of other players I'd say we could get Porter and Collins up to GA with a bit of google research as well as they're currently reasonably comprehensive without being too difficult to find more info on. Any other suggestions Bladeboy1889 (talk) 07:52, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Both Micky Adams and Andy Reid are also at GA status - and 1889–90 Sheffield United F.C. season has just passed :) Oh the excitement.Bladeboy1889 (talk) 12:20, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

New Blades site

[edit]

Apart from being hideous - it doesn't retain all the existing urls so all the previous links in references are now buggered. Brilliant. Bladeboy1889 (talk) 11:13, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

More GAs

[edit]

Ched Evans has made it to GA :). Any suggestions of other articles we could work on to GA standard gratefully received! Bladeboy1889 (talk) 13:55, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Building a MOS for Blades season articles

[edit]

I was thinking it might be a good idea to generate an MOS for United season articles to ensure we can get some consistency. Whilst it will need to be supplementary and non-contradictory to the WP:Football one, that one leaves it open to use varying styles and templates within the suggested sections (eg there's no guide on what match result template, or loan tables to use etc.) and some of the ones that have developed piecemeal are a bit of a mish mash. Obviously I'm thinking it should be based on the most recent articles we've been working on, but it would be good to nail them down and have any discussion on improving them generally. Request for information on WP1.0 web tool

[edit]

Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.

We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
