Karl Shuker article

As the subject of this article, I have recently registered my concern on its discussion page and elsewhere (e.g. BradV's discussion page) re the 'autobiography/extensively edited by subject' tag at the top (see this article's discussion page for details), as I personally am worried not just that it is unjustified but also that it gives an unfavourable impression regarding myself to anyone reading the article. In response, ClovisPt suggested (again see the Karl Shuker article's discussion page) that a good way to resolve this situation would be for some editors to go through the article, make any changes that they consider necessary, and then delete the tag. As the subject of the article, I naturally have no objection to this. Indeed, I would greatly welcome any such action, because the tag has been present now for almost a month without attracting any response from any editor but has no doubt been viewed by numerous readers worldwide, which is why I am now making this request here, as I can think of no better or more qualified editors than those of the cryptozoology group to do this. Hence if there is anyone here interested in doing so, I thank you in advance for your time, and look forward to seeing the article brought up to Wikipedia standards for biographies of living persons. Shuker was the first cryptozoologist to bring to widespread public attention a considerable number of cryptids that were previously little-known. These include the Sri Lankan horned jackal and devil bird, Gambo the Gambian sea serpent, Goodenough Island mystery bird, New Guinea ropen and devil pig or gazeka, Scottish earth hound, Indonesian veo and horned cat, New Caledonian du, Irish dobhar-chú, Shatt al Arab venomous mystery fish, Zanzibar makalala, Ethiopian death bird, Zululand kondlo, Arctic North American waheela, Kellas cat, Mongolian Death Worm, Hungarian reedwolf, Fujian blue or Maltese tiger as shown on the cover of Mysteries of Planet Earth (1999), Welsh cenaprugwirion, bigfin squid, St Helena sirenian, Timor Sea ground shark, and crowing crested cobra.

Anybody want to link the rest of these and/or create stubs? It's rather frustrating to see the "gazeka", "Zanzibar makalala", "Hungarian reedwolf", etc. etc. mentioned and not have any idea what they are. :-) -- 201.37.230.43 (talk) 22:32, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Template:Cryptozoology seems to be broken

Could somebody else take a look at the Cryptozoology template? It looks to be broken and is spewing bits of markup into the rendered page at the top of the navbox at the bottom of the Cryptozoology article. --TS 23:47, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

The disamb page Jacko includes as one item:

- This seems strikingly un-helpful. Anybody care to create the stub (or redirect/link) for this?

Coordinators' working group

This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. The Creation of a new Fortean Wiki

A new Fortean Wiki called Forteana has been created. It is not intended to mirror the Fortean pages on Wikipedia though inevitably there will be some usage of information from Wikipedia, at least in the early stages. It is hoped that Forteana will eventually become more extensive and detailed than the Fortean pages on Wikipedia and as the site will be dedicated solely to Forteana then it should make it easy to find information. It is also possible for authors to include material there which is copyright, and which cannot be edited by others, and I believe that this is not possible on Wikipedia.

The site is fairly small at present but grows day by day. Anyone is more than welcome to join and help with the site.
