Active users?

[edit]

Could it be possible to improve this list by listing members that are active and inactive.

Also there's some users which their only contribution was to add their name to the list. Would it be a good idea to remove them from the list or place them as inactive?

It's considered impolite (understatement) to remove wikiproject-members without consulting them first, but I don't know what Wikipedia policy is in cases like this. --DanielPharos (talk) 12:03, 26 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The question is what policy would apply in this case and not to be impolite to users. For users that have made at least one or so contributions, but haven't been inactive for a year or so could be placed on an inactive list. For users whose only contribution is added their name to the list maybe a note on their talk page stating that they'll be removed in two weeks or so may work. As for the Wikipedia policy it might fall under Sock puppetry or Single-purpose account.

Sock puppetry is a single person using multiple accounts, which doesn't apply in the situation we're talking about. (Sleeper accounts can, but I don't see anybody pretending to be a different user.) Single-purpose accounts might, although there are editors that added themselves to the project having only edited articles outside computer security, for which this policy then doesn't apply.
But I think your basic approach is sound. Can you please propose this idea on the wikiproject's main talk page, so we can gather consensus? (Also, I'd give people four weeks, just to reduce the chance that somebody is on holiday during that entire period.) --DanielPharos (talk) 07:50, 27 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Daniel. I'll put up a rough draft on the wikproject's main talk page.
