Information needed about custom "format" options
[edit]Template:Infobox language/doc has a format
option that is different from the two options shown in these instructions. Is there a place where advanced options for that field are explained? Maybe a link to mw:Help:TemplateData#Custom formats is needed? – Jonesey95 (talk) 22:29, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
- You will undoubtedly need to refer to the template documentation as a whole and ask at that template's talk page if it's still not clear. TemplateData is not a substitute for proper documentation of a template's functioning, and the use of a given parameter really cannot be standardized from template-to-template other than by convention. - I think you may misunderstand my question. I'm looking for documentation, here on the English Wikipedia, that explains the
format
option within TemplateData. I am not asking about a|format=
parameter in a specific template. – Jonesey95 (talk) 05:54, 3 January 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Can someone please add TemplateData to this template, which has 1,300 transclusions? Thanks. – Jonesey95 (talk) 17:50, 2 December 2023 (UTC)

Automatic Modernised WoRMS References
[edit](I've been directed here from Template talk:Cite WoRMS)
Hi, I've been working with WoRMS a lot recently and I noticed that when using the automatic citation tool (built-in to the Visual Editor) the citation inserted is technically wrong/outdated and has to be modernised (See examples in the linked discussion). Is there a way to update the relevant template so it automatically inserts the modernised reference?
