Activating WP Balochistan

[edit]

Can someone please help me on how to activate the Wikiproject Balochistan Category:WikiProject Balochistan, Pakistan participants. We have all the provinces activated except Balochistan. It is high importance for Pakistan: Wikipedia:WikiProject Pakistan as its one of the four provinces. Tribal Explorer (talk) 11:45, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, right! I am also surprised to see that geographic stub types exist down to district level for Punjab and KP but not for Balochistan and Sindh. If small regions like Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan have own stub categories, Balochistan with its huge territory, clearly lacks coverage.
If there isn’t enough interest in reactivating a dedicated Wikipedia Project for Balochistan, which I would support, the province would benefit from at least having more structured support with dedicated geo-stubs, constituency-stub, and own MPA-stubs. The real issue isn't about activating the WikiProject. It's the lack of active editors. As long as we have enough engaged editors working on Balochistan-related articles, the activity level of the WikiProject itself doesn't matter much. — Saqib (talk I contribs) 10:32, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have activated the project, but “use it or lose it” applies here—it will revert to inactive if there is no participation for a year. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 15:58, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Dear @SheriffIsInTown, thank you for this. And I will actively use it from now on. Tribal Explorer (talk) 07:55, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @SheriffIsInTown, I tried to tag one page but struggling to do that. Can you or someone else please help in showing me one example with the WP:Pakistan, Balochistan project.
I added it to Kalat page, you can see the command. Tribal Explorer (talk) 08:12, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Tribal Explorer It's now fixed. However, you'll need to use the Balochistan=y parameter for the WP Pakistan template, which should add the Balochistan banner. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 17:03, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@SheriffIsInTown Thank you. I see a difference still with other WP pages, like Pakistan: Sindh. Reference here, WP:Sindh. At Kalat, Balochistan page, it only says Pakistan only, and upon clicking show more, it shows a small line at the bottom. Just curios to know if we can fix it. Women in Green's October 2024 edit-a-thon

[edit]

Hello WikiProject Pakistan:

WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in October 2024!

Running from October 1 to 31, 2024, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Around the World in 31 Days! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 countries (or broader international articles) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.

We hope to see you there!
