What happened here?

[edit]

It was going fine. Twentieth and Twenty-First Century "Classical" (i.e. "Western Art") Music need a lot of work and all that the Mother project cares about is C19th and backwards as far as I can tell. No wonder the kids hate "classical" music! Any one going to help me or am I on my own? — Iadmctalk  15:58, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It's a struggle, and there's much work still to be done. I took an absence of nearly a year from Wikipedia at one point – I needed a break from all the infobox fighting. When I came back the contemporary music project had been converted into a task force (whatever that means), but the project banner redirect hadn't been set up properly, so all the articles that were in the contemporary music project were transferred to the classical music project but not the contemporary music task force. I've been correcting the banners by hand whenever I come across them, but there must be many many more to do. Oh, and when I came back after my year's absence people were still putting more effort into arguing about infoboxes than into improving articles and coverage. I think we've lost a few editors, but there are still some working away quietly and doing much good work. I still try to check in most days, but my visits are often brief and amount to no more than reverting the odd bit of vandalism. --Deskford (talk) 23:54, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Quite... OK: we edit as and when, then... Twentieth century classical music certainly needs a lot of work. And infoboxes might be MADE mandatory (the opposite problem we all had...) Great. See you around. — Iadmctalk  15:32, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Zubin Kanga Submission Advice

[edit]

I submitted this draft of an article about an experimental pianist I think is important enough for a wiki page months ago and it still hasn't been reviewed. Does anybody have any advice? https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Zubin_Kanga Thanks Georgery Kempe (talk) 12:42, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request for information on WP1.0 web tool

[edit]

Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.

We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

New Project - NOTABLE 20th/21st century composers

[edit]

I started a new draft list a month ago with the purpose to list only notable composers of the 20th and 21st century. I added a bunch of criteria in the talk section of the page to filter out composers while reducing bias as much as possible. I have a long term goal to go through every composer listed in the 20th and 21st century classical composer lists, and so far have gone through 20% of the composers on wikipedia. All American composers have been reviewed by me, as well as all composers born after 1976. (Currently, I am the only person working on this project). If anyone wants to help, reach out! Or if you just want to add a composer, just review the criteria first.
