Notification on post-RfC discussion

[edit]

There's a discussion on what to do with the aviation accident summary causes after a successful RfC on what to do with the causes in the aircraft occurrence infobox. It can be found at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aviation#Post-RfC discussion. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 04:32, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Inclusion of ferry and test flights in the list of accidents and incidents on commercial aircraft?

[edit]

I've started this discussion to determine whether a consensus exists to include ferry and test flights in the list of accidents and incidents on commercial aircraft, and I think that members of this task force may be interested in participating. New discussion on 737 MAX accidents

[edit]

See Talk:Boeing 737 MAX#"MCAS error" in summary field of accidents. CutlassCiera 21:48, 15 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've propose that Category:Filmed deaths during transport disasters should be renamed Category:Filmed deaths involving transport accidents and upmerged directly under the Category:Filmed deaths category tree. This may be of interest to members of this task force because this is the parent category of Category:Filmed deaths during aviation accidents and incidents, and I'm not sure if our friendly and helpful WP:AV bot will automatically flag the parent category under Article Alerts. Discussion here; feel free to contribute. Carguychris (talk) 20:58, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

When should an event be described as a "accident", "crash", "incident", or something else?

[edit]

This one's been litigated several times so it's worth getting a subject-matter consensus. What definitions should be used to describe an event or flight as a "crash", "incident", "accident", or something else? guninvalid (talk) 05:32, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

We should go by how reliable sources are describing the situation. As discussed here, though, different countries apply 'accident' and 'incident' differently. DonIago (talk) 05:57, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
