WiR redlist index: Overlooked

Welcome to WikiProject Women in Red (WiR). Our objective is to turn red links into blue ones. Our scope is women's biographies, women's works, and women's issues, broadly construed.

This list of red links is intended to serve as a basis for creating new articles on the English Wikipedia. Please note however that the red links on this list may well not be suitable as the basis for an article. All new articles must satisfy Wikipedia's notability criteria with reliable independent sources.

About

[edit]

Welcome New York Times readers! If you've read its "Overlooked" series on remarkable women omitted from the obituary pages of the Times over the last century and a half (published on International Women's Day 2018), here you can find their Wikipedia articles and a similar effort to fill in the gaps on Wikipedia.

This page is a joint effort of Wikimedia District of Columbia, a regional Wikipedia outreach group, and Women in Red, a worldwide project to turn "red links" (also known as missing Wikipedia articles) about women into "blue links" (or put another way, adding Wikipedia articles about women we ourselves have overlooked).

Only 19% of biographies on Wikipedia are about women! Why not read and edit one of the articles below? Or here's some help on how to create new biographical articles.
