Wikipedia:WikiProject Tropical cyclones/Article notability guidelines
Appearance
This is a WP:WPTC guideline under construction. Members are encouraged to help out. All discussion and proposals must be done in the talk page.
- An article must have sources that originated outside of forecasting centers, such as the National Hurricane Center or Hurricane Research Division
- For storms that impact land, there must be some form of damage, and not just meteorological stats (such as rainfall or winds recorded)
A very notable (non-trivial) record must have been broken if no impact occurs.- For storms that impact land, there must be enough impact to differentiate the storm from other storms that occur (e.g. US$ 50 Million, 20 deaths, etc.)
- There should be significant media attention for a storm (e.g. many sources)
