The railroad of the Oklahoma, New Mexico and Pacific Railway Company, herein called the carrier, is a single-track, standard-gauge, steam railroad, located in the State of Oklahoma, aggregating 35.894 miles. The owned mileage consists of 29.981 miles of main-line track and extends from Ardmore to Ringling. The mileage operated under lease consists of 5.913 miles of main-line track and extends from Ringling Junction to Healdton.

The railroad of the Ringling and Oilfields Railway Company, herein called the Ringling and Oilfields Railway, consists of 5.913 miles of single-track, standard-gauge, steam railroad, extending from a connection with the carrier at Ringling Junction to Healdton, Okla. The carrier wholly owns and uses 37.993 miles of all tracks and uses but does not own 7.504 miles of all tracks, which are classified in the trackage table in Appendix 1.

CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated January 8, 1913, under the general laws of the State of Oklahoma, for the stated purpose of constructing and operating a railroad from Ardmore, via Waurika, to Lawton, Okla.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The owned mileage of the carrier, 29.981 miles, was all acquired by construction. Work was begun In January 1913, and on October 1, 1913, the road between Ardmore and Wilson, about 20 miles, was placed in operation. The remainder of the road was completed and placed In operation in July, 1914. The road was built under contract by John Ringling, but the available records do not disclose whether or not the contractor was affiliated with the carrier at that time.

The owned mileage of the Ringling and Oilfields Railway, 5.913 miles, was all acquired by construction during the period from November, 1910, to September, 1917, and was built, under contract, by the Ringling Construction Company.
