Noted by Dudemanfellabra in its article. --doncram (talk) 14:56, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
Property names
[edit]- "Siege and Battle of Corinth" is listed in NRIS while Siege and Battle of Corinth Sites is a National Historic Landmark (see [NHL webpage]. The NRHP application document, National Register of Historic Places Registration: Siege and Battle of Corinth Sites, also includes "Sites". NRIS name needs to have "Sites" added. doncram (talk) 18:00, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- Old Depot Restaurant and Lounge, listed on the July 22, 1979, at 1202 Market St., Port Gibson, MS, is listed in NRIS as "Old Depot Restaraunt and Lounge" with restaurant misspelled. doncram (talk) 03:21, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Various issues
[edit]- Ravennaside is reported by NRIS to have date of significance of 1805 and to be Greek Revival in style. It was built c.1900 and is Classical Revival in style, per its NRHP document. Perhaps there are older outbuildings on the property. See NRHP document for Downriver Residential Historic District and for Ravenna (Natchez, Mississippi), too. --Doncram (talk) 19:45, 28 August 2018 (UTC)
Town location issues
[edit]- I. T. Montgomery House, listed May 11, 1976 is listed in NRIS as being in "Mount Bayou", Mississippi, when it is actually in Mound Bayou, Mississippi. Other NRHP listings show correctly in Mound with D rather than Mount with T. doncram (talk) 04:48, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- New Orleans and Great Northern Railroad Depot-Tylertown, listed April 14, 2000, located "Franklin Hwy.", is listed in NRIS as being in "Tylerton" in Walthall County, Mississippi. The town name is Tylertown, Mississippi (adding a W) instead. The three other NRHP places in the county are all given as being in Tylertown. doncram (talk) 22:40, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
- Bear Creek Fishweir #1, listed August 11, 2005, Tishomingo State Park, is listed in NRIS as being in "Tichomingo", while it should be "Tishomingo" with an S instead. Bear Creek Fishweir #2 is correctly located in Tishomingo, Mississippi. This is in Tishomingo County, Mississippi. doncram (talk) 23:24, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
- Byram Bridge, listed: May 23, 1979, location: Old Byram and Florence Rd., in Byram, Mississippi, is listed in NRIS as being in "Bryam" rather than "Byram". Another NRHP is listed correctly in Byram. doncram (talk) 17:30, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

- The Homochitto River Bridge and the Jenkins H. Welch House are listed in Hazelhurst; proper spelling is Hazlehurst. Nyttend (talk) 03:39, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
Address issues
[edit]- The Ripley Historic District in Ripley is listed as being "Roughly bounded by North St., siddall St., MS and Middle St." Capitalise "Siddall" and perhaps expand "MS"; as far as I can see, there's no Mississippi St. or Ave. or anything else by that name in the city. Nyttend (talk) 14:31, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
- Okolona College in Okolona is listed as being "US 245 N, 1.1 mi N of jct. with MS 41 and MS 32"; 245 is Mississippi Highway 245, not the nonexistent U.S. Route 245. Nyttend (talk) 22:48, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
- The Waterways Experiment Station in Vicksburg is listed as being "Roughly boinded by Spillway, Durden Creek, Tennessee Rd., and Dam Spillway"; correct "boinded" to "bounded". Nyttend (talk) 00:47, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
- The Lenoir Plantation House near Prairie is listed as being "Off US 45 Alt., 3 mi. S of jct. with NM 382"; this is Mississippi Highway 382, not New Mexico State Road 382. Nyttend (talk) 02:14, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
- The location of Southwest Holly Springs Historic District in Holly Springs, MS, is described as "Bounded by S. Center, S. Memphis, and Craft Sts., Marbury Ct., and Ghulahoma, Gholson, Elder and Mason Aves." There exists a HABS pic of a house on Chulahoma Street. Google maps shows E. and W. Chulahoma Avenues. Apparently "Ghulahoma" in the Southwest Holly Springs HD's description is a typo for "Chulahoma". doncram (talk) 23:15, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
- The Smith Park Architectural District in Jackson is listed as being an "Irregular pattern along N. West and N. Congress Sts. between Captiol St. and State Capitol"; correct "Captiol" to "Capitol". Nyttend (talk) 02:28, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
- Institute Hall in Natchez is listed at "111 S. Pearl ST."; correct capitalisation to "St." Nyttend (talk) 14:28, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
- East Clinton Historic District location is listed as "Roughly bounded by the Illinois Gulf Railroad, E. Collerm Landrum, E. Main, and New Prospect Sts." Looking at a map, I assume that it's supposed to be "Roughly bounded by the Illinois Gulf Railroad, E. College, Landrum, E. Main, and New Prospect Sts. Also, the county identified for this listing is Rankin. It should be Hinds. --sanfranman59 (talk) 00:06, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
Architect, builder, engineers
[edit]- Claremont (Port Gibson, Mississippi) has Joshua G. Clark listed. It is Joshua G. Clarke (with an E) who was builder. The error is in the MS document, here available at NPS. For just one non-wikipedia source using the correct name, here is this. The Wikipedia list is List of justices of the Supreme Court of Mississippi.
Coordinates issues
[edit]While I know that we're not normally reporting coordinates errors, I believe that we should report mistaken coords for the Downtown Cleveland Historic District (Boundary Increase), which is listed as being at 2127537610°30′742170348748850″N 1799742532°58′30691836297216000″W: that's over two billion degrees and over seven hundred trillion seconds of latitude and nearly two billion degrees and thirty quadrillion seconds of longitude. Nyttend (talk) 03:43, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
{{coord|2127537610|30|742170348748850|N|1799742532|58|30691836297216000|W}}
Wow, that has got to be a record! My mental compass is spinning out of control.... doncram (talk) 23:42, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
- The first latitude converts to 2.08x10^11 degrees. Since a degree of latitude is about 60 nautical miles (1852 meters exactly), that's about 2.3x10^16 meters, about two and half light years, halfway to the nearest star other than Sol. Or, keeping things closer to home, a little less than 600 million times around the Earth. . . . . Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk • contribs) 00:40, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
