Wikipedia:Edit Request Wizard

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

English Wikipedia guidelines strongly discourage editors who have a conflict of interest from editing articles directly, and prohibit paid editors from doing so without disclosing this before making edits. Instead, these editors are encouraged to submit an edit request on the article's talk page using the designated form below. This process generates a request for review by an uninvolved editor, who will then determine whether the proposed changes should be implemented.

Additionally, certain pages may be protected from modification by certain groups, either temporarily or permanently, to prevent vandalism. In these cases, editors who do not have the required permissions should submit an edit request to propose changes.

If there is uncertainty about whether an editor is being paid to edit or has a conflict of interest, it is advisable to submit an edit request or seek guidance at Teahouse before making any direct edits to an article.

Consulting the guide to effective COI edit requests can improve the likelihood of a request being implemented.
