Wikipedia:Concordia/Elections/Statements/Ilyanep
Hello,
I am Ilyanep. I've been here since 05.03, admin since 06 or 07.03, bureaucrat since 10.04 (although I've only been able to spell it since about 01.05 :P), and CJ member since 04.06.
I like the idea of promoting civility in the Wikipedia community, and I was brought to this page today by someone (who also reccomended to me that I stand in one of the positions in the election). I think that CJ can work somewhat closely with Esperanza (of which I am also a member) to strenghten our community.
The problem of incivility is very saddening when it drives people to leave. I hate seeing good wikifriends leaving Wikipedia for good, or seeing old friends from my first year of Wikipedia having left. And heated arguments are usually the reason why they leave, most of which can be easily prevented. When in a heated argument, I've tried to remind people to keep their cool already, so the way I see it I'm backed by friends who do the same now :)
I'd like to be a councillor because I think I have some ideas that are good for the organization and I'd like to voice them. I really can't list many of them here because they're all fairly vague (ideas for some things tend to start out vague for me but they'll assemble, perhaps with the help of others). I'd also like to be almost an advocate for the community at CJ, as I think I am fairly easy to talk to (although I don't know :P).
I don't think I'll make my statement all pretty like some of the others are (although rest assured that I am perfectly able to when I want to).
That's all from me. Feel free to ask any questions on my talk page. — Ilyanep (Talk) 22:20, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
