Westminster High School is located in the city of Westminster, California and belongs to the Huntington Beach Union High School District.

Overview

In 1957, Westminster was officially recognized as a city and as a result: the city needed more schools to accommodate the vast number of students that lived in Westminster. The school was built on approximately 57.1 acres (231,000 m2) of land and features five acres of working farm land where students can study agricultural science. The school's name and traditions are derived from the English Westminster Abbey. For example, the school's colors: red, black and white are the same as those of the Royal Guards of England and the school's official mascot, the lion, is Britain's official insignia. The majority of the students attending Westminster High School are Vietnamese and Hispanic. The minority population of the school includes Caucasian, African-American, Pacific Islanders, and other ethnicities. This school is known for hosting many city and district events: which is why Westminster High is also known as a "community school." Westminster High School currently serves students from Johnson and Warner Middle schools and Stacey Intermediate School.

Alma Mater
Westminster, Westminster, to thee we proudly hail,
Proud in victory, Strong in faith,
Let thy name prevail.
Our strength will never waiver ; We'll ever loyal be,
To thy beauty, to thy Honor,
Praise we'll sing to thee.
