Evolution of sex edits
[edit]Hi, Seb951, and welcome to the English wikipedia. Thanks for your edits on evolution of sex. Looks much better now! And also thanks for your message on my talk. - Samsara contrib talk 02:13, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
Origin of sexual reproduction
[edit]You can find it here: Sexual reproduction#Origin of Sexual Reproduction. - Samsara contrib talk 02:23, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
Confusing structure
[edit]Seb, I find the current structure you propose somewhat confusing. On evolution of sex, you talk about the distinction of maintenance and origin, where origin is a link to sexual reproduction; on that page, however, you do not mention the distinction, but instead list evolution of sex as the "main page", which clearly, it is not since it does not deal with the origin! I propose we either have origin as a subsection of evolution of sex (since the definition of evolution does encompass "descent" and hence mechanisms of descent), and have it as just a simple link in the text of sexual reproduction, or we make two pages, one for maintenance and one for origin, in which case, they should be appropriately named! What do you think? - Samsara contrib talk 22:41, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
Nouvelle image
[edit]hi again Seb, I've generalised your image somewhat so it says "diploid stage" and "haploid stage", as zygote and gametes are somewhat more specific terms to my mind - for instance, in plants, one commonly refers to gametophyte and sporophyte (I did notice you got the figure from a plant text book, and am all the more surprised...).
Maybe you can change your original to reflect this: File:524px-Sex life cycle.JPG - Samsara contrib talk 23:05, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for your comments on my talk. I'll just respond to this one quickly:
- Zygotes and gametes are valid for animal cells too, but we can remove them if you want, i don't care. I just used a plant text book cause that's what I had in my office.
- Precisely. In plants, it is actually more valid to speak about haploid and diploid stages, or specifically about the gametophyte and sporophyte. Talking about zygotes has a tendency to imply that the diploid stage is the main stage, which is not always true. - Samsara contrib talk 22:11, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

Heterosis image
[edit]I like the idea if having this image, but having an image with small text in a fixed graphic is hard to read and impossible to edit. Any chance you could present the same information in an HTML table format, with resizable cells? --Metzenberg 06:19, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
Hello. Would it be okay if you helped provide some notes, external links and such to the Alexey Kondrashov article? Cheers mate. Jazzwick 17:20, 04 February 2007 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure I didn't delete it, but you can check the history of the article... But yeah, perhaps get some external links and such?
Cheers, --Jazzwick 18:19, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
OK, may be I was heavy-handed. The article as it is now does not assert notability (see WP:PROF). I have restored the article, please provide references showing that he is notable. Alex Bakharev 23:41, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- It is much better now. Thanks Alex Bakharev 23:16, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- Hello again. I've just merged the two Alexey Kondrashov things here. But yeah, would it be okay if you could add a tiny bit more to the intro? You know, such as "Alexey is a Evolutionary Biologist" as opposed to "Alexey S. Kondrashov has worked on a variety of subjects in evolutionary genetics"... I would do it myself, but I don't specificaly know what it is that he does, or his title. Sorry about that, but on the bright side, I am pretty impressed with the ammount of notes and citations per-line. Keep it up! Cheers... --Jazzwick 00:09, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hi - sorry, I didn't mean to stomp on your edits. The way you changed it is much better so a bit of tweaking here and there will get it into shape. Thanks Bob98133 (talk) 17:51, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 30
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Car2Go, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Eugene. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
