Explanation needed on List of Albanian Grand Viziers
You need to explain why this article should be speedy deleted [[2]] and your note here to the article's creator [[3]] seems also unexplainable.Alexikoua (talk) 12:21, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

Can you produce the diff where you reported Kedadi? Athenean (talk) 06:12, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
- I can't produce the diff I reported you too, but for both reports you can ask the Wordsmith or do you think that he just happened to see both yours and kedadi's violation? --— ZjarriRrethues — talk 06:49, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
- I will ask him. What's with the sarcasm and nastyness btw? I'm just asking a simple question. Athenean (talk) 20:23, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
- Also, I would think it's obvious that a treatise on architecture is not an appropriate source on the ancestry of a figure of the Greek War of Independence. I really don't appreciate how you seek to portray every single edit of mine as "problematic". Athenean (talk) 20:28, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

I'll tell you just once, you're not looking good there. And you can repeat your claim about "user agents" another million times if you want, it won't make it truer. You are wrong, period. Interaction ban
Under the authority of WP:ARBMAC#Discretionary sanctions, and perthis AE thread, you are banned from directly interacting with or commenting on Athenean, broadly construed, anywhere on Wikipedia for 3 months. Further, please be warned that it is not acceptable to file largely inactionable AE requests or to make factually inaccurate statements within them. Repeated infractions may result in sanctions, up to and including a ban from AE altogether. T. Canens (talk) 14:54, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

- Sorry to intervene but this is 'clear' violation of Wikipedia:Interaction_ban: undo each other's edits to any page (whether by use of the revert function or by other means).. The interaction ban was one sided (against Zjarri.) and he reverted Athenean. Alexikoua (talk) 10:01, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
- I didn't know that and he could have left me a message to self-revert myself.--— ZjarriRrethues — talk10:48, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
- Can someone bring a Zjarri's diff for which he was blocked? I really don't understand this block.--Sulmues (talk) 13:27, 2 October 2010 (UTC) Zjarri should be under an interaction ban with Athenean to get blocked for breaking this ban, is that the case, or is this block a mistake? --Sulmues (talk) 13:32, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
- The diffs are right in the block reason - [4] reverting [5]; the interaction ban - see #Interaction ban, a few sections above on this page. T. Canens (talk) 21:41, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for your explanation, but can you please specify better what this interaction ban entails exactly, so that Zjarri may fully understand the ban and not risk to be blocked in the future? He is a very valuable and respected member of wp:WikiProject Albania: we are three-four members and truly need one another to build together good articles. "Broadly construed" has virtually no limits, and each sysop can basically block Zjarri for every article that he edits, because Zjarri and Athenean virtually edit on many common articles, and in general Athenean edits in many Albanian articles, we are extremely lucky to have him give us a hand, but how is Zjarri supposed to know what he should do? Is he supposed to not edit directly after Athenean? Is he supposed to not participate in the same thread of talk pages? Clarifications would be very helpful so that Wikipedia doesn't risk to miss Zjarri's contributions. Thank you again for your help! --Sulmues(talk) 00:39, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
- WP:Interaction ban sums it up quite well. T. Canens (talk) 00:44, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
- I got it. May I suggest that in the future when you as an admin apply a ban to a user such asthis you also point to the policy like you just did, rather than mention a "broadly construed"? Actually the policy is very clear, but very recent (it started just a month ago), so Zjarri couldn't have known it, hence this block is the result of his lack of knowledge of the policy and of your failure to communicate the ban well by linking it to the policy, wouldn't you think? In addition, can everyone just make up a policy like this? I see that the user who wrote it is not even a sysop.--Sulmues (talk) 00:50, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
- There's also WP:IBAN - which is actual policy, to which I just redirected WP:Interaction ban.T. Canens (talk) 03:14, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Toponym Commissions
I don't know what sort of material you have gathered, but it would IMO be best to write these articles on a per country basis. Unless you have a good number of quality sources examining the phenomenon as a whole in the Balkans, best not try to synthesize an article on your own. Either way, sub-articles dedicated to each country would be created somewhere along the line, so best to start with them.Constantine ✍ 13:12, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
Fruiless reporting

AE request
Per your request on IRC, I am clarifying that, if you have good cause to believe that Athenean (talk · contribs) is hounding your edits or otherwise improperly taking advantage of the interaction ban, you may file one (1) AE request against him limited to this issue only, under the normal exception for necessary and legitimate dispute resolution; in the course of making such request, you may make one (1) post at Athenean's talk page solely for the purpose of informing them of said request. While said AE request is pending, your interaction ban remains in force; for instance, you may not interact with, or comment on, Athenean anywhere on Wikipedia except the section of WP:AE devoted to your request, and all other provisions in WP:IBAN still apply. However, you are warned that if, after review, uninvolved administrators determine that the complaint is frivolous or filed in bad faith, you may be sanctioned at the discretion of the reviewing administrator for violating your interaction ban. Albanian changes
Thanks for your changes to the Albanian section of Indo-European vocabulary.
I have a few questions about some of the additions. In particular, the words that are added need to be
- Cognate with the PIE roots in question
- Inherited words (e.g. not borrowed through Latin)
All the Albanian words that I added originally came from Pokorny, and satisfy these criteria.
- I strongly suspect that verë "spring" is borrowed from Latin; likewise dhomë.
- I suspect that at "father" is not cognate with *pH₂tér- (e.g. you would not expect loss of p- in Albanian); probably instead it's cognate with (possibly borrowed from) atta ("father" in Gothic).
- Similarly një (one) is questionable because I don't think you'd expect loss of the initial oi-. In addition, this is such a basic word that it's unlike Pokorny would have missed it if it were truly cognate.
- For grurë do you have an etymology of this word?
Thanks, Ben

- OK, thanks. grurë is on p. 44 and it definitely belongs. verë if this is the same word for "wine" does not belong, as it isn't derived from the PIE word for "spring" that it's placed under. një I can't find in the accessible portions; can you quote the relevant section? Cultural Monuments of Albania
Hi, since you speak Albanian, you may be able to help me with the articles listed in Cultural Monument of Albania. Many of the articles have names that aren't suitable as article titles in English wikipedia. Most readers don't speak Albanian (neither do I), so "Rrënojat e Kishës" doesn't mean much to them. The translation ("church ruins") isn't specific, so we need new titles. I'm working through them, but I stumbled on some that are too difficult for Google Translate, e.g. "Kisha e Shpërfytyrimit", "Kisha e Ungjillizimt", "Xhamia e Telelkave", etc. Do you have suggestions for English translations for those? On 23 December 2010, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Anthony Athanas, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Albanian American Anthony Athanas, who rode a donkey en route to the United States, became a multi-millionaire restauranteur in Massachusetts? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. Religion of Himariots
I kindly ask your consent to add the following sourced text to the article Himarre:
Himariots which adhered to Christian Orthodox and Catholic faith were partly converted to Islam after final defeat of Albanians which happened after the death of Scanderbeg their national in 1478.Individual conversion to Islam were recorded in beginning of 16th century and the phenomena of crypto-Christianity appeared, particularly in villages of Fterre ,Corraj e Vuno according to Ottoman registers of 1583.One of most common acceptable reason of an individual abjuring Christianity was to enable him to enter the Turkish army. This was the case of Ajaz Pasha ,Himarriot with extraordinary career who became Grand Vezir in Ottoman government send latter by Sultan to put down the revolt of Himariots of 1537. Due to efforts of several Basilian missions send by Rome since 1682 with Monks ancestral of region and knowledge of Albanian language, monks were prevalently Albanians in origin and for them was to return in the same land their ancestors left behind , Himarre was not entirely converted to Islam.

Hello Zjarri. I've checked only a few of his more recent Byzantine-related creations, most of his work is Serbian-related, and I don't know much there. So far, this is the only infraction I've come across. Do you mean that he has been removing sourced information for POV reasons in Albanian-related articles as well? Zoupan
I apologise Zjarri, I didn´t intended to contrary you on the report, and I don´t know anything about Zoupan, I never meat him. But when I saw the edits in question, well, they are not really vandalism in its meaning. In some related article Bosnian Cyrillic I even coincidentally opened a discussion there today, and I noteced he has edited it before. I condemn nationalism, but some users have been confusing any mentioning of Serbia as nationalism (not saying you, but in general), and some Serbian editors have found themselfs in very hard possition to edit some articles. I´m not saying this doesn´t happend to others, on contrary, I for exemple tried to expand some articles on Kosovar or Albanian football, and just as exemple, I personally favour Kosovo national team and leagues admitionship in FIFA and UEFA regardless of being or not considered independent by all, or just some. But he seems to have been a bit ganged up on some articles. In the report what I mean with languages addition is that it is only needed to add a different language version when there is actual difference from the title, so that is why I said that there is no need to add Croatian, Bosnian or even Serbian latin, because the article title was already on those languages, but just Serbian Cyrillic. Seems that some users think that since Serbian Cyrilic is listed, the other languages should be as well, but that is not the case because they don´t write different letters...
Regarding SPI, did you checked if the IP is really him? I mean, it seems to be him, but have you confirmed it? FkpCascais (talk) 11:16, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
- I think that the Serbian vs. Bosnian vs. Croatian vs. Montenegrin ethnicity dispute shouldn't exist regarding medieval people. Of course there were families/people, who probably identified with only one ethnicity like Nemanja or Tvrtko but the rest were south Slavic rulers/families, which at the very most had a regional affiliation.--— ZjarriRrethues — talk 11:55, 10 April 2011 (UTC)

Aromanians
Yes Zjarri, this map on Aromanians is the official data according to the state and to recognized legal minority organizations of the state. However remember that this is a Linguistic Map and doesn't indicate anything else.
Aromanians are a recognized minority and their language has the official status in Municipality of Krusevo and rest area, please look related maps. [OFFICIAL STATE DATA]
Albanians is the known of course minority and their language spoken in more areas than what you can see in the map, with a simple drive in the country you will see it. Official 25% of the population speaks Albanian. [OFFICIAL STATE DATA]
Bulgarian is spoken widely in the southeastern province (there are estimated 60 to 150 thousands Bulgarian passport holders there. Officially 60 thousands, however bulgarian organization give different numbers. [OFFICIAL STATE DATA]
Shopi is another special group of people, not entirely Bulgarian but not either Macedonian, the area they live is called Shopluk (check related maps) and they speak a Bulgarian dilact. There is not any official research about Shopi of the state. But if you live in Macedonia, you will know of course Shopi from the daily speaks and the anecdotes. According to the data of legal recognized organizations for minorities, the linguistic minority is as shown, there is another Shopi minority also in the borders of Serbia and Bulgaria. However the Shopi of Bulgaria, has already adopt the Bulgarian language as is today, due to education and stability of the state in the last years. [DATA FROM LEGAL RECOGNIZED ORGANIZATION]
Roma is also another recognized minority with an almost total majority in the Šuto Orizari, the area if officially billigual. Also there is a Roma elected minister in a high position of the state. Speedy deletion tag
You put a tag on a page that was still being expanded Presidents of Ghana. The article had all the requirements for it to be a great article on Wikipedia. It had the tag "in use" and was less than 15 minutes old yet you tagged it for deletion. I also used to make the same mistake when I first came to WP, please check the time line that an article has existed before you tag it. I have written over 200 articles and this is the first time I have experienced something like this. Would you like that I stop what I am doing? Please remove the tag. --CrossTempleJay (talk) 16:28, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

- I would be grateful if you would reply my message. By the way you changed the tag but did not remove it. Once again please consider the tag else I may have to send it to other editors to look into the issue.--CrossTempleJay (talk) 16:37, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
