Please do not take content from my sandbox without properly attributing it; if you do so again you might be blocked. GiantSnowman 15:32, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No, what isn't "cool" is you taking somebody else's work. How would you give me credit? You do not have the ability to merge page histories - whereas I have done so, and I have merged your work back into mine. GiantSnowman 09:15, 14 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well that's kinda the point - I hadn't released it yet. Why? Because he is not yet notable. As for articles I have created over 4,000 so I have no issue with giving that material to the wider public; what I do not appreciate is someone like you hijacking a work in progress. Furthermore first of all you admitted to "[taking a] few things from your page", then you say "it was all done by me" - which one is it, and if it's the latter why are you lying when you clearly took it from my sandbox?! GiantSnowman 14:34, 14 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and you cannot "borrow" somebody else's work...!!! GiantSnowman 14:40, 14 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

I'll try do what I can to get it sorted, but it will go much better (and be easier for me) if you don't add fuel to the fire by making aspersions about other editors. Follow up

[edit]

So looking at User:GiantSnowman/Dylan Carreiro -- in order to decide whether the article should go in mainspace, we start at WP:N (notability). That leads to "sports and athletics" (in the box on the right), which leads to the "association football" (the Wikipedia compromise name for the sport), which leads to WP:NFOOTBALL (or WP:NSOCCER). Based on that and the list at WP:FPL, my guess is an article would not meet the criteria, so would likely end up deleted. (But I'm certainly not an expert on the sport, so I could be wrong about that.) NE Ent 10:53, 16 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Canadian "soccer" players

[edit]

Hi Vince. I have seen a few of these from you at Articles for Creation, none of them are going to get accepted until the players make an first-team appearance for their club team, or for the senior national team. At the moment all of these guys are just sitting on the bench, which is not enough for notability at WP:NFOOTY. It is probably better to create the articles whenever is good for you, then don't submit them until they meet the criteria outlined above, otherwise it will be yet another decline. Proposed deletion of Maxime Crépeau

[edit]

The article Maxime Crépeau has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG and WP:NFOOTBALL.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Your draft article, Draft:Maxime Crepeau

[edit]

Hello, Vince193. It has been over six months since you last edited your Articles for Creation draft article submission, "Maxime Crepeau".

In accordance with our policy that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 12:17, 16 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what to really add, Maxime Crepeau is already an article on Wikipedia, and he fits the criteria as he is a full professional player. So you can delete my draft article if you'd like. Vince193 (talk)

Poor sourcing

[edit]

I noticed on at least three occasions that you source statistics to locations where they are not supported. Haber's first goal for Cavalry can be WP:CALCulated from the fact he did not score in his first match for the club and he did in the second, but the source itself makes no mention of it being his first goal. Similarly, his first match is not supported by the reference prior to it, but knowing he signed for them in the off-season, and it being their first match of the season, we can make assumptions. However, assumptions do not qualify as sources. Walter Görlitz (talk) 17:26, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with you with the assumptions that have to be made, There aren't really any articles that indicate whether a player made his debut, especially if its multiples guys at the beginning of the season and they don't do anything notable. Do you have any recommendations? If it's fine I'll just put the date of the debut and not add a source. I just add the link to the match boxscore because it's something, rather than nothing. Thanks!
Also, this is in the Haber article " when he climbed over Arnold Bouka Moutou to head home his first goal with a new side." So I figured that was clear enough for a goal source. Vince193 (talk) 17:35, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The video shows the goal, so that part of the description is fine. The real problem is that aside from the CBC, I have not seen much coverage of the league so finding better sources is a problem. Walter Görlitz (talk) 19:18, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

small thoughts

[edit]

I have already changed two like https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Michael_Baldisimo&curid=53962889&diff=1011425252&oldid=1008693164 this] and it will be my third, and suspect that there will be a fourth. This is really not two separate thoughts, so either

  1. replace the period of the first sentence with a comma and add the new phrase,
  2. remove the earlier mention of provisional with the "made the team"

We do not need all of this minor detail. Now off to fix the one I linked. Walter Görlitz (talk) 21:16, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reference Parameter

[edit]

Hi Vince193, I've noticed some of your excellent work on some Canadian soccer pages. Always great to meet fellow Canadian soccer wikipedians. When you add the references, would you also be able to add the "|work=" parameter as well listing the website the article is from as well? For example, |work=Northern Tribune, |work=Canadian Premier League, |work=Sportsnet, etc. (I usually use the [[ ]] links when a page exists, and leave it as text when the website doesn't have a wikipage like Northern Tribune). Keep up the great work! Best, RedPatch (talk) 21:55, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Jordan Knight (soccer) moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Jordan Knight (soccer), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 22:53, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
