Blue Lights[edit]
Hi. I'm disappointed to see you revert my Blue Lights edits and I just wanted to know why. As far as I'm aware you don't need to discuss a page before creating one and surely you can't just delete articles on here without discussion. Maybe the episode list is understandable, but both season articles had a decent number of references. I sincerely hope you reconsider. FishLoveHam (talk) 11:53, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, please read MOS:TVSPLIT for the Manual of Style concerning this. Discussion can take place when splitting an existing article to get consensus for whether splitting is appropriate. The main article Blue Lights (2023 TV series) can be expanded without that becoming too long for now. Please also read WP:COPYWITHIN about whenever you copy within Wikipedia. Guideline and policy news
- Phase I of the 2024 requests for adminship review has concluded. Several proposals have passed outright and will proceed to implementation, including creating a discussion-only period (3b) and administrator elections (13) on a trial basis. Other successful proposals, such as creating a reminder of civility norms (2), will undergo further refinement in Phase II. Proposals passed on a trial basis will be discussed in Phase II, after their trials conclude. Further details on specific proposals can be found in the full report.
Technical news
- Partial action blocks are now in effect on the English Wikipedia. This means that administrators have the ability to restrict users from certain actions, including uploading files, moving pages and files, creating new pages, and sending thanks. T280531

- The arbitration case Conflict of interest management has been closed.
Miscellaneous
- This may be a good time to reach out to potential nominees to ask if they would consider an RfA.
- A New Pages Patrol backlog drive is happening in May 2024 to reduce the number of unreviewed articles in the new pages feed. Currently, there is a backlog of over 15,000 articles awaiting review. Sign up here to participate!

Apology[edit]
Hi, this is User:toobigtokale. We had a bit of a rough exchange on my IP talk page, and I wanted to apologize. I gave a half apology in that thread but that's not enough. I come off too strong.
For context: the reason I was a bit protective of the NK labor information is because I'm admittedly a little bit of an activist editor. A lot of my writing centers around human rights abuses; I actively try to spread awareness of things like this to prevent future incidents. I actually added the info about Mark being Korean to the Invincible article before; I actually really do like the show and watch it with my friends, but to me the NK outsourcing labor issue is so underreported that it feels morally pressing for me to share info about it when I can.
But how I express this sense of urgency is on me; there's no reason I should have treated you poorly. I'll tread more carefully in future with you and others. All the best, toobigtokale. 104.232.119.107 (talk) 08:54, 1 June 2024 (UTC)

Character articles[edit]
I'm thinking of creating {{IMDb characters}} so an article like List of Hawaii Five-0 (2010 TV series) characters will just need to write the template name, without the qid and title and it will handle it automatically with code that extracts the series QID like this: {{Wikidata|qualifier|raw|Q4060173|P360|P1441}}. The title can either also be taken from Wikidata or from extracting the title from the article name. This will also remove the need to handle in {{IMDb title}} the Category:Pages using IMDb title with no id set for this case. Thoughts? Gonnym (talk) 11:29, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
- Sounds good. Most articles don't currently have that in their Wikidata item[1] but can be added, different for each entry so guess need to do manually. Getting title from Wikidata might be better so when it's used on franchise articles the title is from qid paramater like ID and doesn't have to be manually added. - Please discuss on main article talk page, not here. So add them to the main article table, and split if / when it gets too long. Split tables aren't necessary regardless, can still be a single table if split. Indagate (talk) 13:01, 11 July 2024 (UTC)
