Descendants of Draenor
You targeted this page for speedy deletion. This page is important because it is a piece of World of Warcraft history, particular to the server Deathwing. Members of DoD have contributed to the success of thousands and have helped to improve their lives online in the game. I feel that if it were deleted, it would serve only to prevent players from researching this guild. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jakesnake771 (talk • contribs) 16:39, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- I still don't agree that it should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for notability and reliable sources. --Twinzor (talk) 16:47, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- I can semi-see where you are coming from, but in that case should "groups", like the KKK be in this encyclopedia? They have done nothing to help, only spread hatred, and murder.
- DoD has further enriched the lives of many people. You can hear personal accounts of people saying that if it werent for DoD, they would have nothing to do, or would have quit the game.
- I know there are many people who have considered joining the guild but would like to know more of the history and the leadership of the guild. I figured that this page would serve that purpose so those people could make a more educated purpose.
- I would notify the members of the guild so that they could edit the page with more content and formulate it better. My friend is a web developer so he would better know how to edit this page to look nice.
- And sorry about not knowing much about the Talkback thing. It is kind of confusing.
- Please let the page stay, it isn't hurting anyone.

- The right place for a WoW guild's history is on the guild's own website. The requirement for information to be added into Wikipedia is verifiability (again, see the guidelines I linked above). KKK certainly deserves an article, being a major part of history, and there's plenty of published information about them. We do not censor in Wikipedia, but we require for article subjects to be notable and the information verifiable. Please do not recreate the article, as it will only get deleted again, unless you can provide references to reliable, independent sources. And don't worry about the talkback thing, I just used it to notify you I have replied to you here. --Twinzor (talk) 17:05, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- So in terms of verifiable sources, you would want, a guild website, and other websites that reference DoD in a positive and meaningful light? If that is the case, I can surely get you some references —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jakesnake771 (talk • contribs) 17:07, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- For an in-depth explanation about reliable sources see here: Wikipedia:Reliable_sources. But to summarize, reliable sources are sources which are independent from the subject of the article and have a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy, thus a guild website or a community driven website/forum are not reliable sources, but for example The Washington Post is. --Twinzor (talk) 17:12, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks
Footfall:
Perhaps not the best way to do it, but you've me helped raise Wikipedia's credibility!
I will behave from now on.

Because I keep running into your contributions where you've been reverting vandalism, working on AfDs and placing (always relevant) tags on articles. Thank you for all your hard work! Bonadea (talk) 13:15, 25 June 2008 (UTC) |
Rollback
After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback can only be used to revert vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback may be removed at any time.
If you do not want rollback, then contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some information on how to use rollback, you can view this page. I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, just leave me a message on my talk page if you have any questions. Happy editing! Malinaccier (talk) 15:16, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
