binary prefixes

[edit]

There is a vote planned to help stop binary prefixes (the kibibyte/mebibyte nonsense) being changed in articles where the sources do not use binary prefixes. Please have a look at my talk page for more information. Fnagaton

License tagging for Image:BinaryWiki.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:BinaryWiki.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 22:07, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Binary prefix updates

[edit]

Hello, you asked I message you when there is a vote regarding the MoS and binary prefixes, so I am now doing that. The vote is here: Wikipedia_talk:Manual of Style (dates and numbers)#Proposed new guideline for binary prefixes Kind regards, Fnagaton 21:41, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Beowulf

[edit]

I removed the mention of Avary winning the Academy Award because it is unnecessarily POV. If readers are interested in his background, they can visit his Wikipedia article. I hope you understand -- both the worst director and the best director get objective treatment on Wikipedia. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 22:55, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
