What did I vandalize? I agree that I vandalized Disturbia & Lethal Weapon 4. How did I vandalize Blind Side (film) wikipedia page. I was just adding more info that was in movie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.88.78.94 (talk) 18:25, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

Hello, Tommy. This looks like Danish or Norwegian, which I cannot read. Can you tell me what it says? Dlohcierekim 19:17, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
- I have no idea... but it doesn't like anything I've ever seen in my life. As far as I know, neither use the "eth" symbol, which is the weird looking "d" with a line through the stem. It's archaic, but used in IPA. Tommy (talk) 19:19, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

Tha Crossroads template
I removed the template because I thought it was vandalism, since the single wasn't released in 09 and none of the references had any trace of the single. But then I noticed that the references for the 1996 template were also off, so maybe it's a problem with the links. But I don't understand why there are chart positions for the single in 09 still. - I'm not sure, but it's best to not just delete it because it's outdated, especially without an edit summary, this looks like vandalism. Tommy (talk) 02:19, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
Supposed vandalizing
Read my post in the discussion section. I am not vandalizing but removing egregious statements. You will find the same upon reading through the article and checking out the references. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ylmuanima (talk • contribs) 15:21, 17 March 2010 (UTC)

- Some are from BBC and yet have nothing to do with what they are being cited for. E.g.: I can say that I am the best footballer in the world and link a site that shows all the best football players in the world and my name is not there.--Ylmuanima (talk) 15:29, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
- I looked at what is being cited... and it looks okay to me.. can you be more specific? Tommy (talk) 15:32, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
- Sure. The figures in the bar state that thousands of Serbians were injured, and yet this statement is not found in the BBC article. As per the other source (B92) it is a Serbian News Agency that has been known to alter figures in favor of Serbian sympathies. It's like citing a Sinn Fein sympathetic article for an wiki-article that talks about how many Northern Catholic Irishmen the English have injured. You'd expect a bit of a slant.

- Also citation number 4 doesn't even work and the photo of the first church is of a church in Croatia. Click on its name and you'll see. It has nothing to do with the article at hand. Thanks.--Ylmuanima (talk) 15:38, 17 March 2010 (UTC)

Hello!
Hi and thanks for asking. I'm able to revert most of the nonsense because I have administrative privileges. Anyone can be nominated for adminship. It generally requires a certain number of edits to your history and, at least at one time, participation in the creation of a featured article. It's then put to a vote by the community-at-large. What I can do for you after you've been here a little while longer is to grant you rollback privileges. This will allow you to revert vandalism by a single user or IP with just a keystroke. Personally, I'd like to see more admins. There are only about 1700 of us. Anyway, enjoy the project. Heaven knows we need all the good editors we can get!

- Thanks for the warm welcome. I'll try my best because I think it's really cool here. How would you submit an article for featured status? Does it get critiqued?Tommy (talk) 23:20, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
It does indeed. Again, any article can be nominated as a feature whether it's one of your originals or one you helped work on. It's peer-reviewed, suggestions are made to bring it in line with featured article status and if it passes muster, voila! One FA on the main page and for all time. :) --PMDrive1061 (talk) 23:28, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Hello indeed
You certainly have gotten off to a running stop. If you need anything, please let me know. Dlohcierekim 23:39, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
I assume you have an have an interest an adminship. You may want to look at User:Dlohcierekim/On RfA. You may want to increase your article building. Many see that as a requirement. (Not me, I'm a vandalism reverter. But I'm a relic.) Also, if you don't mind me saying so, I see more article edits than talk page edits. If you are not already doing so, please remember to 1) tell others if you revert, and to 2) notify users when nominating their work for deletion. And do keep up the good work. Cheers, and happy editing. Dlohcierekim 23:49, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for the kind words! I'll remember to warn users, Twitter takes so long to load though!! :P Tommy (talk) 23:59, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
- Do I really have to warn users? I figure most of the time (during the schoolday at least) when all the little kids like to play around there's no point and serious vandalism, such as racist or homophobic slurs or nonsense vandals should? Thanks --Tommy (talk) 01:52, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
- Absolutely! They can't know they need to stop if we don't correct them. They'll never learn. And warning is a prerequisite to blocking. Blocking is only a last resort to prevent damage to the Encyclopedia. We must warn them and ask them to stop if we expect them to stop. Also, if we merely revert, they keep going through multiple sessions without us stopping them, then we wind up with more damage and having to wait longer to stop them. Cheers, Dlohcierekim 02:01, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
- Good point. Although to be honest, I get the "jist" of it (and since it's so fast).. I'll probably forget to.. sometimes.! Tommy (talk) 02:09, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
Hittites
Im redoing most of the Hittite material here and i think that the best way to do it is by creating one "Hittite Empire" page which will be the central article and link to the Hittite language page and the "Hittite sites" page. Im going to add more stuff on religion and government later. I think the Hittites should have an Empire page like the other Empires of the past. Are you ok with me redirecting the article then? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Javierfv1212 (talk • contribs) 23:52, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
- It looks better if you have a brief history of it in the main article and then in the separate article it can be as detailed as you'd like.. Make sense? If it was all in the main article it'd look too long and confusing. Tommy (talk) 23:55, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

RMC CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL
I blocked indef as a vandalism-only account, but I don't see how the username is "misleading, promotional and disruptive". Can you explain? Daniel Case (talk) 15:40, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- 1. Misleading, because a high school cannot be represented as one person. 2. Promotional in the sense that it is drawing attention to the high school, although I realize "promotional" is intended for business purposes and 3. disruptive because it's in all capital letters. Tommy (message) 15:43, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
I reverted your revert on the basis of your reversion being on a false premise. I always leave an edit summary... even if it's just one letter... when I am permitted to do so (unlike for this post). 147.70.242.54 (talk) 01:23, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

Careful
This was not vandalism, it was a mistake. Don't tell people they've committed vandalism unless there was clear malice. DS (talk) 23:00, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
- How? Tommy (message) 23:02, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
- Vandalism is very much about intent. As WP:Vandalism says, "Vandalism is any addition, removal, or change of content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia." (emphasis mine) In this case, it is clear that this is not some vandal who is trying to get away with putting a fake reference, but instead a newbie who does not know how to cite references properly. While reversion probably could have been employed here, a custom edit summary as well as a nice talk page message would have been nice. A rollback click and a vandalism warning was not necessary. NW (Talk) 23:46, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
Is it vandalism if it's true? I consider it a small contribution to knowledge.
- This is indisputably disruptive. It however, if merged in the article so that a reader would learn in an encyclopedic fashion, then no, it wouldn't.
Thanks
Thanks for the revert on my user page. =) -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 17:25, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

Vandalism warning level
Hi Tommy2010, I just wanted to let you know I replaced your warning level on User talk:66.237.5.67 to level 4. Because this user had already been warned, he removed the earlier warnings. Here's a little advice: before you issue a warning be sure to view the page history to see if any warnings for this month were removed. Thanks! If you have any questions regarding this you may contact me on my talk page. ~ Dwayne Flanders was here! talk 20:17, 27 March2010 (UTC)
- Oh, that's fine. I have a confession: I don't (usually) choose the warnings, it just starts at #1 and works its way up, however I have in the past upped the warning for blatantly racist, sexist and over the top vulgarity. --Tommy (message) 20:19, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for bringing it to my attention though. Tommy (message) 20:22, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

US lottery edits
Hello, Tommy! I, in recent weeks, have been editing US lottery articles, mostly because they are poorly written, redundant, etc. Your recent edit to New Mexico Lottery brought back what I had edited because I felt it, like many other lottery articles, needed editing. I tried hard not to remove important info; in places, I added info while reducing the length of lottery articles. I believe your recent NM Lottery edit, restoring poorly written and redundant info, should not have been made. You realized this in another lottery article. 207.210.134.83 (talk) 18:48, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

WP:AIV reports
Hi Tommy2010, Thanks for helping remove vandalism, I appreciate it. However, please stop adding reports saying that an IP has vandalized after a final warning, when they haven't. Several of your reports have done this today; the IP vandalizes, you issue a level-4 warning, and then report to AIV. That isn't how things work there, please have a look at the instructions at AIV, and at WP:VAND. if this is an automatic setting in Twinkle or Huggle or something, please look into switching it off. Thanks. --Floquenbeam (talk) 15:24, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- These are manual edits. And the only case I see is regarding this IP from my contribs. The rest are already blocked, so I don't see what the problem is. I also do not just issue a level 4 warning either nor do I enjoy being profiled in such a way. Thanks Tommy (msg) 15:30, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, I blocked one myself, but not because they vandalized after a final warning (they didn't), but for long term {{schoolblock}} type stuff. But at least two of your reports today specifically said "...after final warning..." when that wasn't the case. I didn't imply you "just left a level four warning" (or, if I did, I didn't mean to), I just meant that this was the timeframe: vandalism, warning, report, with no additional vandalism after the warning. If you feel a report is justified by the type of vandalism, then feel free to report early, and many of us will block anyway if you briefly explain why a final warning isn't needed. But it complicates things for the reviewing/blocking admin when you say "after a final warning" when it isn't the case. --Floquenbeam (talk) 15:38, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- Okay. Well, in the last case, which I believe you are referring, I reverted vandalism, gave a level 4im ( only warning due to multiple vandalisms) and then after I rolled it back, s/he vandalized again, and reported the IP. I guess you could say this is "unfair" for the IP given that they vandalized within 10 secs of the warning...but I reported the IP anyway. I didn't really feel sympathetic for the IP. If you ask me, they know they're doing something wrong, warnings aren't even really needed for purposeful malice. But I see what you mean. Is that still wrong? Tommy (msg) 15:46, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- It's kind of the luck of the draw; different admins who handle AIV reports handle things differently. If it's clearly malice, I (and many others) won't insist on four warnings. I'm not asking you to wait for four "free" vandalism edits, just don't call it "after a final warning" if it isn't, just because it can be confusing for the reviewing admin. I'll go back and look again at the timeframes to show you what I mean, perhaps I read them wrong. --Floquenbeam (talk) 15:51, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- But I didn't give a "final warning", I gave an "only warning" The Twinkle form has a "vandalized after 4 or 4IM warning" check box. Tommy (msg) 16:00, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- OK, it looks like what happened, for both User:70.90.232.57 and User:72.242.162.170, is:
- Vandal edit #X
- Revert of #X
- Vandal edit #X+1
- Warning for #X (almost same time as #X+1, so I assumed it was a warning for #X+1)
- Revert of #X+1
- Report user
- To you, it looked like they vandalized after your warning, because it was there after you checked warned them, and not the last time you looked. To me, the timeframe was "no edits after final (or only) warning". This happens occasionally, and it isn't a big deal, at all; unfortunately, it happened to you twice in a row, and I happened to be watching AIV both times; I thought I detected a pattern when it was probably just bad luck. As long as you're typically reporting people people when they vandalize after a final, or only, warning, you're fine. Your 2 previous reports before these look like that's the case. So, I'm sorry if I jumped too quickly at this. --Floquenbeam (talk) 16:15, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Author blanking of article
I notice that you recently reverted an edit where the author of the article Center for Civic Education had blanked that article, and you placed a warning on that user's talk page, using Huggle. Certainly generally it is not accepted for the author of a page to remove a speedy deletion tag, but it is generally accepted that if the author of an article blanks the article, and no other user has added any significant content, then the blanking is taken as indicating that the author wants the page deleted, and it can then be tagged for speedy deletion with {{db-blanked}}. This commonly accepted view is mentioned at WP:CSD. Very often new users who don't know how Wikipedia works see an article they have created tagged for deletion, accept that the article should be deleted, and remove the content, thinking that is deleting it. It is much better in such a case not to bite the newcomer by giving them a warning that they have done something wrong by trying to comply with the deletion notice. You may know all this already: I know from my own experience of using Huggle that it is very easy to slip into simply clicking on the revert button and moving on without checking the edit history carefully enough, but I thought it would not harm to mention this. JamesBWatson (talk) 21:05, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- Hello James. When I saw this diff link, given that it was lengthy -with citations-, I assumed it was vandalism of an establish article. Otherwise it's virtually impossible to tell who created the article with 2 diffs. I can see how this (after reading wp:bite) would fall under that, but again, usually when authors blank an article they create it usually looks nothing as established or formatted as that one is. But thank you for bringing it to my attention --Tommy (msg) 21:09, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- Sometimes Huggle warns you if the blanking was done by the author, and asks if you want to tag for speedy deletion instead, but sometimes it doesn't. I have no idea why. JamesBWatson (talk) 21:20, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- Yea. I just saw an editor blank his page. Had to use the blue arrows to see it was him. --Tommy (msg) 21:21, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Wikipedia is a encylopedia edited by users. I updated 2 pages with reliable references and citations to proove the point. This user then took it upon himself, to view my references as unreliable and the additions I made controvesial. Then he gives me completely patronising messages on my talk page, trying to talk me down. Users shouldn't be able to control pages like this. And then get other users warnings. I merely added a couple of lines (with 3 valid references). And he just reverted it without a second thought. Then sent me a message along the lines of nice try. I was and am personally offended. This is not how wikipedia should run. 86.185.147.54 (talk) 23:27, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
- I couldn't agree more. It also appears he has an extensive block log, but I don't know many users on here. If I were you, you can go to WP:ADMIN and request assistance from any admin. If you would like help, let me know and I could find an admin for you to help mediate this because I'm not overly familiar of how that all would work. --Tommy (msg) 23:29, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
Hello Tommy2010
My act of "vandalism" was a way for me to get someone's attention, there is a new review regarding that game, at http://www.gamespot.com/ds/rpg/shinmegamitenseistrangejourney/index.html, I was trying to update this and was unable to post a succesful reference, there is also a problem regarding the game's bonus soundtrack, more information can bee see at http://atlus.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6809, I would have liked to add this myself, but I am not a very good writer, thank you for your patience.--71.168.56.228 (talk) 15:07, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
- No, you were vandalizing. However, I gave you a welcome template anyways with some links to help you out. It isn't a good idea to remove content and replace it with capital letters. If you need help, every article has a talk page so you can talk to other editors with a similar interest. --Tommy (msg) 15:10, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
I happen to be a fan of the series, and I believe the end justifies the means, and what I did was wrong but at the end I believe I helped notify about the game updates, theres also a new review at http://ds.ign.com/articles/108/1081533p1.html, sorry for the misunderstanding and I hope that someday you could see the way I weas thinking.--71.168.56.228 (talk) 15:15, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
- Good luck with that. Tommy (msg) 15:16, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
- Well thats fine with me, but I would really like to see this page to get updated.--71.168.56.228 (talk) 15:18, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
- Well this is Wikipedia... It's interesting how you can vandalize a page so easily but in terms of making it better, it's like rocket science. Tommy (msg) 15:20, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
- I did attempt to update the article, attempted to site a reference, and my edit got reverted.--71.168.56.228 (talk) 15:22, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
- It was reverted because you removed the reference list. Might have been an error or maybe not, I don't know because then you decided to just blank the whole page. You can re-add it, but just be careful not to remove other stuff --Tommy (msg) 15:25, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
I will attempt to, thank you and sorry for the misunderstanding :)--71.168.56.228 (talk) 15:27, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

In Your House
I'm redoing the entire page. Making individual pages for each In Your House PPV then going back afterwards to rewrite actual paragraphs and descriptions. It will look like the SummerSlam or Wrestlemania page when done.Username1235 (talk) 01:31, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Hey there, I've seen you around on Huggle reverting vandalism left and right. Good job on that vandalism hunting and keep up the good work. --A3RO (mailbox) 03:24, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Lewis Hamilton
Thanks for the revert. I was busy with the banhammer, which I thought was probably a higher priority. The warning when editing is clear enough. Mjroots (talk) 14:41, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
- Looks like you'll have more blockage --Tommy (msg) 15:15, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
Lexw
I think you may have misread the username, as it was not Lexw (talk · contribs) who made that edit, but an impostor named Lexvv (talk · contribs). Who has now been blocked indefinitely. Even if it were really him, though, I personally would have reverted that, which is why I did revert it even before I noticed the "impostering" myself. I think you did the right thing, and I hope others would agree with me. —Soap— 15:11, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
- Oh wow, I didn't even notice Tommy (msg) 15:13, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
- Let me tell you that I myself didn't understand what was going on there: "How can I have done this???", was my first thought. Yeah, I'm the true Lexw, with w, not double v. Thanks for reverting the changes of that idiot. Lexw (talk) 22:37, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
IP User Vandalism
This IP user User talk:98.100.6.11 is out of control with vandalsim. Even after being warned and blocked several times. (see their talk page) If there is anything that you can do to put a stop to this person, that would be greatly appriciated. Thanks! Texas141 (talk) 19:34, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
- That IP has only vandalized (and even been used) twice recently. If it's a problem we'll fix it. Nothin' we can't handle *evil laugh* Tommy (msg) 19:54, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
Employment equity (Canada)
Hi Tommy. This was the first time I had ever requested semiprotection, and I'm a bit perplexed about what happened. The article is Employment equity (Canada), and this is the edit you made [3]. What happened? My semiprotection request seems to have vanished without being either fulfilled or denied. Thanks for looking at this. Canadian2006 (talk) 02:47, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, you know what happened? It was an edit conflict and I saved my edits and it must have deleted yours. Sorry about that. It wouldn't have happened if twinkle worked... --Tommy (msg) 02:49, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Vandalism
I apologize: that first edit was me, but that second one was my little brother who got on the computer after me. (It's okay, I beat his ass). Again, sorry! Allow me to end with a question: what percent of IP editors are vandals? Thanks! Hope to clear the confusion! 76.107.217.221 (talk) 01:06, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

User 174.59.43.144 Vandalism
I know your not an administrator and all, but I saw that you had given this guy a final edit warning. I reverted a couple edits he made to Dodgeball that I viewed as vandalism, but I'm not quite sure what the next step is. I hope I'm not adding to a workload you might have, but can you take care of it? I'm pretty sure it's as simple as notifying an Admin, but like I said, I din't really know what comes next. Thanks, WM2 04:38, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
- Hello. He made those edits after I warned him and it looks like he hasn't been vandalizing after the final warning. No action is needed but I replied on your talk page how to report vandals --Tommy (msg) 11:35, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
- Wasn't paying attention to what time it happened. Sorry about that but thanks for checking into it. Thanks for the instructions, WM2 20:39, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
User 71.82.149.73 Vandalism
Just saw your messages. Not sure who used this computer to vandalize Memorial High School and Microwave, but I have my suspicions. I'll be sure to keep a keen eye on who used it and what it is used for. Thank you very much for the messages, as I wouldn't have otherwise known. Biggy (talk) mcgrawk —Preceding undated comment added 16:02, 14 April 2010 (UTC).
- Well, you clearly have your own account so it shouldn't matter. Tommy (msg) 17:34, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
Revert and warning for edit on Wikipedia:Editor assistance/Requests
Hi Tommy. Please remember that editors posting on Wikipedia:Editor assistance/Requests are likely to be unfamiliar with Wikipedia and therefore extra care must be taken not to bite them. The editor you reverted and warned here seemed to be asking about the Ajay Devgan article. --NeilN talk to me 19:00, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Neil. I reverted for 2 reasons:
- The account has a history of vandalism
- The account did not ask any specific questions and furthermore wrote in a rather explicit way- making a demand and not asking any relevent questions: "write more!" was essentially what the user requested.
Since I have not yet reviewed wp:bite I will do so (although I have an idea what it says.) I may be wrong, and if so I'm sorry, but that was my rationale. If it was a question or if the user honestly seemed confused, I would have of course taken another course of action. Thanks --Tommy (msg) 19:04, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
- I believe you're right in that English is probably not the editor's first language. I see a lot of "write more" or "do this" statements about articles that are of interest to non-native speakers. See the archives of Talk:Muhammad/images for lots of examples. I try to figure out what they want and ignore the tone of the message (not always easy). --NeilN talk to me 19:32, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
- touché. I find myself annoyed at stupid comments from vandals here on WP. Kids.. Thanks and good luck. Tommy (msg) 19:44, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
Re:reverting
Hi Thanks for the help. I reverted it to the last edit. I was a huge fan of the band that was vandalized, so of course I was mad. I hope that guy gets kicked out of Wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jkim4007 (talk • contribs) 23:46, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
