Please first pass the Good article criteria. See the criteria at WP:GA, and then nominate at WP:GAN. After satisfying them, we can try for an FA status. I will be able to take a look at the article next week. Thanks. --Ragib (talk) 22:32, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi, I did some more disambiguating, this is a good way to find links to disambiguation pages on a particular page. I'm not too comfortable assessing Good Articles, and this page is definitely outside of my comfort zone so I will have to decline your request to assess it, sorry. I will look over it some more and see if I can make any improvements. Good luck with the assessment! J04n(talk page) 00:38, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hey there. Sorry to say it, but I'm afraid I'm just too busy right now to take on any more reviewing or copyediting work here. Good luck with the article, though! Scartol • Tok 12:30, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your help request, Dhaka school article

[edit]

I can only offer very limited assistance at the moment because of other pressures, but I will do what I can to help you improve the article. The first thing you should do, in my opinion, is to withdraw the Good Article nomination. As yet the article is nowhere near meeting the GA criteria, so don't wait for it to fail, withdraw it now, and we'll see what we can do, but it may be a lengthy process. Hello, I will be glad to be review the article Dhaka Residential Model College you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period.

--Nasty Housecat (talk) 17:28, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

As part of the GA review, I have identified copyright issues that you will need to address immediately. I have noted them on the review page also, but will comment here to call you attention to the problems.

Man of the images used in Dhaka Residential Model College are sourced to DRMC but licensed as if you had released your own into the public domain. This is not allowed. If they are your own images, you have sourced them incorrectly. If they are school property, you may not use them unless the school formally releases them into the public domain (and documents that fact) or donates them for use here. See WP:DCM. Some of the images are clearly from the school website. You may not use them until the correct permission is obtained. You should remove the images as soon as possible.

This is a common mistake for new editors to make. I have done it myself. But you do have to fix it. The best thing would be to replace them with images that you have taken yourself, if possible.

Please let me know if you have questions. I will leave the review open and return to it once the image issues are resolved.

--Nasty Housecat (talk) 22:23, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I checked the DRMC image gallery on Commons and those photos all have the same problem. The claim the school as author and then use a self-PD license. They will have to be fixed as well or they will get deleted. Are they from the website or did you take them yourself? --Nasty Housecat (talk) 02:14, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK. They are mostly good now. Three comments:
  • For the image you claim is licensed under CC-BY-SA 3.0 (DRMC_football_team.JPG), attribution is not enough. The school will have to confirm permission to use with an email (see donation instructions above). Once the email is sent, you can use the {{OTRS pending}} tag while permission is confirmed by OTRS volunteers. This is the required procedure for any image you take from the website (or any other copyrighted source).
  • Did you correct all the images at Commons as well? They had the same issue.
  • The logo is fine, but you need to include a Fair Use Rationale for this article. Use the {{Logo fur]}} template for best results.
I will continue the review and post more comment in the next few days. Regards.

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on National Debate Federation Bangladesh requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Stifle (talk) 18:44, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman Medical College, Bogra 1.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

I have removed content you added to Narayanganj, as it was copied from [2]. Sonali Bank was also copied. As the templates above advise, Wikipedia cannot accept content copied from other sources unless we can verify that the material is ours to use. In this case, I'm afraid it clearly is not. Banglapedia plainly reserves its content: "©Copyright Banglapedia 2006. All Rights Reserved." --Moonriddengirl (talk) 18:59, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
You have been indefinitely blocked from editing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for violating copyright policy by repeatedly copying text into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. You were warned that this is against policy and cautioned that persistence would lead to a block, here and [3], but did not stop. Your infringement of BanglaPedia on 2 January 2010 in Folk Culture of Bangladesh well postdates those warnings.

Please take this opportunity to be sure you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to quote non-free text. If you believe this block is unjustified or wish to offer some plausible assurances that you will comply with our copyright policy henceforth, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. I do not believe you should be unblocked without first making clear that you both understand and will follow those policies, given your apparent disregard of earlier cautions. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 00:01, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In reply to the note left by an IP at my talk page, by our policies all content is presumed to be copyrighted unless it can be verified otherwise. In the case of Banglapedia, there is no presumption necessary, as it says at the bottom of every page, "© Copyright Banglapedia 2006. All Rights Reserved."
If you wish to be unblocked, you need to place your unblock request on your talk page, as per the directions above. During a block, you should not edit any page other than your talk page, as doing otherwise is block evasion. While your note at my talk page is not a particularly big problem, I am concerned that you may have used the same IP to edit Special:Contributions/180.200.239.60 on August 27th, as you had previously been one of its primary editors. Was this you? If so, you must promise not to continue if you are hoping to be unblocked. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:26, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I posted in your page talk page from that IP address as I had no other way to contact with you. I promise not to do so anymore. I've put the {{unblock|Your reason here}} below. Please consider my request. However I've never edited the article Eastern Bank Ltd, though the IP which had been used to edit the article is same to my IP. This is not impossible to change one's IP. Thanks. Tanweer (talk) 13:44, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I've unintentionally violated Wikipedia's copyright policy. I proclaim I will not further copy from copyrighted source

Decline reason:

You have received many warnings, therefore your copyright violations were intentional. This does not convince me that you understand, let alone will abide by, our copyright policy or indeed the concept of copyright.  Sandstein  15:45, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Thanks for clarifying your use of the IP. Given your note at my talk page that you did not realize Banglapedia was a copyrighted source, I would request that you consider agreeing not to copy from any source unless you are able to prove that is not under copyright. We really can't risk your importing content under mistaken understanding of the copyright status again. Not only does this run the risk of legal problems from the project and our reusers, but it causes considerable damage to articles when they must be cleaned later and subsequent contributions are lost. All content you bring to Wikipedia from sources you cannot prove are without copyright should be written in your own words, except for brief clearly marked quotations. (For the amount of rewriting to constitute "in your own words", please see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. It offers some guidance on this issue.) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:58, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please consider taking necessary measures to unblock me. I've several important tasks in some articles, but due to Block, i am unable to do these. I'm afraid how long it will take to get unblocked. Tanweertalk 14:36, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've explained beneath your unblock request that I do not feel comfortable with your proclamation. You indicated that you did not realize Banglapedia was a copyrighted source. This source bears copyright notice on every page. How can we be certain, given that, that you will not copy from other copyrighted sources without noticing that they cannot be used? I myself do not feel comfortable unblocking you until you promise not to copy from any source that you cannot prove to be without copyright restriction. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:51, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It may be noted that, when I've violated the copyright policy, I was a newcomer in Wikipedia. I realized the copyright policy afterward and haven't copied from copyrighted source till then. You may see my recent editing to understand that. I've already promised that I will not to copy from any source that I cannot prove to be without copyright restriction. Will I not be further able to edit articles in Wikipedia from my account? I've further nothing to do as I've apologized for my mistakes. Tanweertalk 16:02, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

In reply to Sandstein: I've received warnings before but not for copying text from Banglapedia. This was the first time Moonriddengirl warned me for this. It may be noted that I did these tasks (copying from Banglapedia) when I was a newcomer in Wikipedia, I wasn't perceived of the copyright policy as much as now. I've also never been blocked before. You may observe me after unblocking, whether I further violate copyright policy or not. You may block or even ban me forever if you find that I've violated. But I think it would be injustice to keep me blocked for an indefinite period.

Decline reason:

Moonriddengirl made very clear the terms you must agree to in order to be unblocked. Given your history of repeated copyright violations after repeated warnings, the offer is more than reasonable. If you unambiguously indicate that you agree to that offer you may be unblocked, if you do not you may not. Seraphimblade Talk to me 06:55, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Tanweer,

You have use my photographic work in your article without my permission, which is a serious offence and I am able to proceed with legal steps against this mischievous act. Not only you copied my photographic work from my Flickr page but also removed my copyright signature using image editing software which is more serious offence.

I would be happy to let you using my photographic work if you would ask permission for that, but without asking any permission, you removed my copyright information from my photo and used it as if this work was copyrighted by you!! I demand good reason from you why you did this and request to remove this image immediately OR replace the image with my original copyright information (and me as the copyright owner of this image).

I am complaining about this image you have uploaded after altering my copyright signature: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/File:Gokul_Medh.jpg#file

Here is my original work:

Edit summaries

[edit]

I have noticed that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! 220 of Borg 15:43, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Museum of Independence, Dhaka, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Mughal and Bengali. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Just wanted to tell you I think you've done a good job with this article. You've added independent sources and put together a far more WP:NPOV article. I think you've done enough to reasonably argue that he meets WP:GNG. Papaursa (talk) 03:43, 11 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Papaursa! Thanks for the compliment. I knew that the article was deleted twice previously due to heavy overestimation and unusual stuffs. I just started it to make a reasonably fair article. And I tried for that. The rest would be amended by others, if possible. Thanks :) Tanweertalk 20:20, 11 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Mohammadpur Preparatory School & College, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Ayesha Aziz Khan moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Ayesha Aziz Khan, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. – bradv🍁 15:27, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]

I've disabled this account until you can explain what was going on with the edits at User:Tanweer Morshed/sandbox/ECG, and the relationship of this account to Limbo.J (talk · contribs). That material was sketchy blackhat garbage, and the usage of a completely fake "CBS" site was about as deceptive as it gets. Sam Kuru (talk) 20:30, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sam Kuru, I created the draft article on my sandbox because I recently heard about this company from a friend of mine who works for the company, and I wanted to write an article about that company following Wikipedia guidelines. At first I thought about the notability of the company as per Wikipedia:WikiProject Companies/Guidelines and then wrote the article following Wikipedia guidelines. I would ask you to explain why did you delete the page, and why did you think the draft was not following Wikipedia guidelines?

If the CBS site was fake then I would remove the CBS reference from the article.

As for Limbo.J (talk · contribs), I neither do know that user nor do I have any relation with that account.

If you're sceptic about the company about which I wrote the draft, then would you explain me why these articles (Climate Change Capital, Capital Fund Management) exist on Wikipedia even though they contain more or less the same amount of references as my draft?

I intend to write an article about the company following Wikipedia guidelines, and I seek your constructive opinion in this regard. I'm completely okay with refraining from writing article about the company if that does not qualify Wikipedia's guideline.

Tanweer Morshed (talk) 02:59, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, slick. The sources you used are 1) a fake sustainability blog created two weeks ago with fake authors and originally created by a PR agency ("registered and incorporated in the British Virgin Islands"), 2) a fraud site mocked up to look like the real CBS site, 3) two press release reprints, 4) another completely fake site, designed to look like BI. I can see you also hit the blacklist trying to add another known SEO fake blog. The more I dig on this, the worse it looks.Sam Kuru (talk) 04:00, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your comment Sam Kuru. Okay I understand that the BI, CBS and sustainability blog are not reliable sources, and so I'll remove them. Do you have any other constructive suggestions about the article? I want to create an article following Wikipedia guidelines. Tanweer Morshed (talk) 05:15, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You're deliberately missing the point. You're working with a group of people that are committing fraud. A competent person would immediately do more research and find better "friends".Sam Kuru (talk) 13:49, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
