I am not a vandal either

Why did you accuse me of vandalism? I just added a little sentence on a page about the Stig. 14:05, 1 March 2008

Add On For Above

I had only realised what had happened so why should i care if you are annoyed but i still do not see how it is vandalism adding a little bit of info it is just correcting something that has been said!>:@ Also you did not ask if i had an external link!! 14:19, 1 March 2008

Hi Steve. I removed the tag calling for more sources because it is clear that there are plenty of sources there. Even the number of secondary sources is good compared to wiki avg. I think that other 3 tags that remain certainly get your point across sufficiently: you want to cut down on the original research and the coi. That is why I didn't remove those. That's my opinion, and I think the result you want might be better achieved by just leaving the 3 tags that are there. What thinkest thou? Cheers, Tjbergsma (talk) 17:15, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

IMPACT

About the reversion you made to the IMPACT article. The sources are the legitimate source of information. What was wrong? Community service (talk) 17:32, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

  • I've quickly checked over the article. You need to find citations, other than from primary sources. So, generally, you can't use a blog site, or a website directly related to the article. However, I'm not too sure here. But my instinct is that it will be very hard to establish notability, and will most likely be deleted. Any more questions, drop a message here. I've got to keep vandal hunting. Steve Crossin (talk) 17:46, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Tags And Blanking

Actually it's (usually) okay when an article gets tagged and the creator blanks everything. If they do that, just put {{db-blanked}} on it. :) -WarthogDemon 17:50, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

why??

why am i being persecuted for doing nothing when in all honesty im trying to help make wikipedia a better and more reliable source!MIGHTYJD (talk) 18:26, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

what edit... i seriously have no idea what you are talking about... not even kidding.MIGHTYJD (talk) 18:34, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

  • Oh, I totally agree with you about that user, but it is still important to provide diffs. Congratulations on having rollback, use it carefully! You are actually lucky, I am about to make it required that the user finishes my adoption program (the in class part) before the request rollback, but your fine. 500 vandalism edits is great, and will help you easily pass vandalism 1.2 (please note that those 500 do not count towards your 30 to pass vandalism 1.2). Usertalk pages get vandalized often, don't take offense and never feed the trolls. You are welcome to finish the vandalism 1.1 test when ever you wish. Tiptoety talk 20:18, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
  • Hum, well I think i am going to keep that question. Take a look here, just write out the steps as described here, yeah it may require a bit of a long answer, but there are going to be many like that on the test. Tiptoety talk 20:28, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
  • How about you just explain how to "undo" an edit, you don't have to make this harder for yourself. Tiptoety talk 20:35, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Vandalsim 1.2

Nah, just let me know when you have done 30 or more vandalism reverts, (I trust you). I will then review them to check for accuracy. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 22:46, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

  • They all look pretty good to me! But i had a couple of questions. Would you mind justifying your reasoning for reverting this edit the leaving the user a vandalism warning? I am not saying it is not vandalism, but would like to hear why you think it is. And one other minor thing, why did you leave this user a level 2 warning when they had already received one? Cheers, Tiptoety talk 23:19, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
  • Please note the changes to this page. You are getting close to the final exam! Tiptoety talk 23:31, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
    • Yes, I've been watching that page very carefully. So, how many other optional tasks do I need to complete? And, which one would you recommend? Hmm...well I helped significantly improve the Nadia Yassir article, so this article would qualify, wouldn't it? However, the merger/notability tags cannot be removed right now. There is an injunction in effect at the moment. Steve Crossin (talk) 23:37, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
  • Okay, if you would not mind providing some diffs of the work that you did on Nadia Yassir so that i could review them that would be great, I am just not finding a whole lot that you did to that article other than add a image. (And dont worry about the notability tag, dont want you to get blocked :P). As for the last optional class, it really depends on what you plan on doing. If you want to focus mainly on articles then do the Reviewing Articles course (the assignment that goes along with it is easy). Or if you are more interested in recent changes patrol/new page patrol take the deletion course (that one is fun but hard). Tiptoety talk 23:50, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
  • Yes, I just checked the Nadia Yassir article. It was more of a discussion on the other user's talk page, and we thought of ideas. But anyway, I don't have the diffs, so I suppose I can't really take any credit. Well, I helped cleanup the Minor characters in 24 page, but it's still tagged. Maybe I'll have to do a whole article :( OK. I'll diligently work on Chloe O'Brian, or Karen Hayes. Or Charles Logan. And, I think I might..first thought is the Deletion assignment, but...I'll try the other one first. Steve Crossin (talk) 00:00, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
  • Okay, let me know when you are done! Happy learning :P Tiptoety talk 00:01, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
  • I've looked at those, however I'm still unclear on which pages you mean, and, to be honest, how to do that lesson at all. However, I could probably do the other lesson. I'll give that a shot instead. Steve Crossin (talk) 00:17, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for removing that odd comment on my talk page. Funny how they think my name is in reference to Inspector Gadget, but whatever. =) -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 23:28, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Ridiculous revert

Do you ever sleep?

I was just reverting vandalism on Sportsgirl, and noticed that you were there at the same time. I was just wondering. Maybe you're a bot... :) Berg Drop a Line ޗ pls 07:39, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi Steve, I removed an obvious cut and paste from the article, see the talk page

Hi, please be a bit easy on the trigger with the revert - you caught a legit comment on Talk:List of NFL Relatives by mistake, and are likely frustrating an already annoyed newbie even more :) --bd_ (talk) 09:41, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Counter Vandalism Wiki

  • Yes, normally, however this wiki requires that the account be created by an existing member of the wiki. For security purposes. Also, I really can't decide which lesson to do. Can you make a Vandalism 1.3 lesson? :D Steve Crossin (talk) 16:18, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
  • Oh, i see. I thought (and correct me if i am wrong) that you where wanting another account for the sole purpose of anti-vandal work, but you are saying you want one for protecting yourself against vandals or impersonators. Did i get that right? Also, if I made a vandalism 1.3 class you would pass it without even having to read the material :). Anyways while anti-vandal work is important there are other areas that require knowledge as well. Those lessons may be a bit hard, but I know that you are smart enough to do them, it may just take a little while. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 16:57, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
  • Um, no, it's not an account for that purpose. Well, in theory, is there anything else with vandalism that you can teach me? Yes, I agree, theres more important things than reverting vandalism. Like, sleeping. I haven't done that in 2 days, been reverting too much vandalism. For the record, I have 2,500+ edits now :) Hmm, I really don't know which lesson to do. Well, not the reviewing articles one. I was useless at it. Steve Crossin (talk) 17:11, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
  • Sure, there is more to learn about anti-vandalism, but i think that you have already learned that on your own. I think that you should try the deletion assignment, it can be done using automated tools such as twinkle. Tiptoety talk 17:31, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
  • Okay, I will do that assignment. Any suggestions as to where to look for pages to nominate for speedy deletion? I would initially think the New Pages section would be a good place. Steve Crossin (talk) 17:37, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey. No, I'm on vandalism 1.1 but I was just browsing tonight, I'm taking the night off to actually sleep for eight hours. THE KC (talk) 02:46, 2 March 2008 (UTC).
Hey, I try, too. Yeah I'm on CVU. You'd think vandals would actually find something better to do than write vulgar things across random pages. THE KC (talk) 02:52, 2 March 2008 (UTC).

Finished

While I understand the test was hard, and i gave you some extra time, it is time to call it finished. If you answered some of the bonus questions you will be fine. I will let you know your score here shortly. Tiptoety talk 05:08, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

  • I gave #4 to you, dont worry about it. You passed with a 98%, good job! (Each bonus question was worth 2 ponts). You are now finished with the in class part of the adoption process, you are now free to roam about wikipedia! GOOD WORK! Tiptoety talk 05:23, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Excuse Me

Alright then. I somewhat see your point. Would it be acceptable then for me to simply add /anti hero to the end of "protagonist" at least then it would actually have somewhat more information ?

National Enrichment Facility article (gas centrifuge vs. just centrifuge)

Concerning my edit to National Enrichment Facility, I was just changing the link because while there are all kinds of centrifuges, a gas centrifuge is the specific device used to enrich uranium. source: http://www.nrc.gov/materials/fuel-cycle-fac/lesfacility.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.170.255.14 (talk) 02:11, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Excuse me?

  • Steve, why pray tell did you revert the external link I included on the Hamlet page? Not only is it relevant but it is a far better site than the other HyperHamlet site that is referenced. And, if I do want to have that link, http://www.thefinalclub.org/work-overview.php?work_id=5, included, what is the best course of action for doing so? I posted to the discussion page but no one commented either way so I just added the link myself. I honestly think thefinalclub.org is a site that would appeal to the community of wikipedians concerned with teaching the world more about Shakespeare. Your thoughts and discussion on this matter would be greatly appreciated. [user: Andrewmagliozzi]

  • How is User:MIGHTYJD vandalizing?? He and RC were carrying on a conversation about a totally fine topic, and you warned him not once, but twice. Those warnings seem quite out of place to me, and you should probably review edit histories before you go and falsely warn people. elisatalk. 17:30, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
  • You are right, it is not technically vandalism, however, see this diff. On Wikipedia, users are asked to be civil, and refrain from personal attacks. That edit was a personal attack, or at the ver least, was not cilil, so was reverted, and they were warned. I use Huggle, and the default template is a Vandalism template, though a Spam or Test edit template can be given. I can change the warning to mention No Personal Attacks, if you wish.

And, in regards to this diff, you are right about that one. I have removed the warning. Steve Crossin (talk) 22:22, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Haha thanks. It's my brother anyways, he was just trying to be annoying. -.- Thanks anyways! elisatalk. 13:17, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

rave vandalism

Sorry man, didn't mean for it to actually appear on the page. It was not my intent to vandalize. I literally was changing it right after I posted it, though it seems you were far quicker (even though it was the moment after). Anyway, I do feel that the reference to football is off, and I wonder if that in itself is vandalism! I would like to see where unions and football are mentioned in reference to rave parties... that is all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.103.212.188 (talk) 21:21, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
