Very engaging documentary! You must have spent a while editing! (BTW, you probably drove right past my home while I was preparing to leave for Egypt!) Awadewit (talk) 13:54, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

groups

Hello Scartol,

I have been covering your comments on group (mathematics) (Willow's are also being handled, but not yet fully done). If you want, have a look at my responses here Talk:Group (mathematics). Also, is it linguistically correct to write "groups share a fundamental kinship with symmetry"? Thanks again for your improvement suggestions and have a good day, Jakob.scholbach (talk) 08:33, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi Scartol, I have left replies to your comments in the Talk:India House page. A massive thanks for the help, would appreciate more if you have it. rueben_lys (talk · contribs) 13:04, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Leads and sundry

Hi, Scartol, I would like your opinion on an article I'm hoping to bring to FAC soon, and for once it has nothing to do with copy-editing! :) Another user and I disagree on the length of Stephen Crane's lead and whether or not it contains too much detail. I wrote the current version, so of course I'm biased, but I think it adequately follows WP:LEAD. If you have time, could you take a quick look and see what you think? If not, no worries; I'm merely spamming every lit bio affiliated user I can think of in order to generate more discussion and less ownership accusations. Sigh. The pertinent discussions can be found on the article's talk page. Take care, María (habla conmigo) 14:52, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Re:Doha

Thanks. I will certainly let you know if i have question. I have some time this week so i'm hoping to finish up adding content to the article. then start the process of copy editing, hopefully, by the weekend. We are still trying to get permission from the WTO to use some images for the page, but I'm hopeful in getting permission. Thanks again --Patrick (talk) 20:55, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Re:India House

Hi Scartol, a massive thanks for the help. I put in almost word for word the rephrase you suggested. I think I'll renominate it again in a week or two, once I find an image of Krishna Varma. Let me know if there's anything I could do to return the favour. rueben_lys (talk · contribs) 01:20, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Congratulations! :)

...on another fine Balzac novel FA. :) Sans chagrin, Willow (talk) 13:39, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Right back at you, Scartol! Thank you so much for your help, as always. Oh, and once again your French lit prowess makes me feel all inadequate as a reader. Which is, you know, saying something. :) María (habla conmigo) 12:11, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Song

Hallo, I am from the german Wikipedia from the sociologic section, and I found out that you wrote a song text on http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Song . We want to know the reason(s) why you wrote this song. It would be kind of you to leave an english (or german) comment on http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Wikipedistik/Soziologie/Musik&action=edit&redlink=1 . Thank you --84.166.123.219 (talk) 07:42, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Riot of mirth and hijinks

Hi, Scartol. You've got yourself listed at social sciences on the volunteer list at PR. I added Stonewall riots to the PR list, as I just rewrote it last week with full citations. I think it has to be the most fun I've ever had writing an article. Do these folks know how to riot, or what? Even if you're not up for a full PR, it's still fun to read. I recommend it. If you'd like to leave comments, that's great too. --Moni3 (talk) 18:17, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

According to my records, you have nominated at least one article (Emma Goldman) that includes a category at WP:CHIBOTCATS and that has been promoted to WP:FA, WP:FL or WP:GA. TFA

Heh, unfortunately (or maybe it's fortunate) I have to go work on this beautiful summers day. I won't be able to sit at home zapping the pesky vandals. I'm confident, however, that most of the vandals will become productive editors after first editing Wikipedia to vandalize the Pygmy Hippopotamus article. Some of them will even be inspired to go on to be zoologists and conservationists, perhaps one of them will save the Pygmy Hippo from extinction. Or maybe none of those things. Ah well. But I come here and see you have 8 FAs now! Gosh, I've been slacking! --JayHenry (talk) 13:26, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Wait, it's not a race? Are you saying that... oh no... I feel dizzy... I have the sinking feeling that I don't get a gold medal for all this. The only reason I was doing this is... I mean... well, I thought if I got 9 FAs, they would stop talking about Michael Phelps and start talking about me. My face on the big screen. Oh, why have I wasted so much time on this if there are no medals?? --JayHenry (talk) 13:41, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
I can't even begin to tell you how much I love the Hippowheaties! That made my day year. --JayHenry (talk) 18:42, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
I came home last night and saw a small edit war had broken out on Ryan White, but I didn't realize that it was on the Main Page until your note. Wow, I feel a bit guilty hogging all the main page real estate. Who would have guessed that adding an article with the word AIDS on the Main Page would attract so much vandalism? I'm confident , however, that some of the vandals will go on and become productive editors. As older and more mature people, they may even be inspired to become virologists, seeking a cure, and, somewhere in the depths of their soul, seeking atonement for that day they vandalized. --JayHenry (talk) 16:24, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Copyedit?

Hey. I've just noticed that you're listed on the WP:PRV page for copyediting and I was wondering if you could please copyedit the 30 Rock article please. Thanks for any help possible -- [User]Jamie JCA[Talk] 10:25, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks anyway. -- [User]Jamie JCA[Talk] 14:25, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

If you have time to take a look

When To Kill a Mockingbird was on the main page, an editor called into question a portion of the lead that he felt was not properly cited. I disagreed, he feels it was not resolved, and we seem to be at an impasse. If you have a moment to get involved, please allow me to link to today's discussion, and the discussion on July 11. I would appreciate your comments in the matter. --Moni3 (talk) 20:20, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Neutrality Tag

Hello,

I have added a tag to the Barack Obama article requesting that it be checked for neutrality. Since you’re a peer review volunteer I thought you might be interesting in coming in as a neutral editor and checking the article out. QuirkyAndSuch (talk) 10:16, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

sorry

Sorry about my non-appearance on Skype; I got to bed really late last night, fussing with MOSNUM and the like, and used the fact that I didn't know what Skype address to access as an excuse. I hope it went well. Next time? Tony (talk) 05:01, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Missed you, Tony. Was a bummer you missed the copy editing discussion. --Moni3 (talk) 05:07, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

India House FAC

Hi Scartol, wonder if I can ask you for your comments. The India House article is now in for a second nom for FA, but Tony thinks the prose is far below par. This something I feel I cant address, since this was also an opposition in the first FAC, and the article has since undergone a number of major c/es. Since you did one of the major c/e of the article, I was wondering if I can ask you for any comments. I am categorically asking you not to support/oppose the nom, but any comments would be great since, quite sincerely, I have not one clue what improvement is being sought. rueben_lys (talk · contribs) 20:48, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
