WP:Films Welcome
Hey, welcome to the Films WikiProject! We're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of films and film characters. If you haven't already, please add {{User WikiProject Films}} to your user page.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Most of our important discussions about the project itself and its related articles take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has a monthly newsletter. The newsletter for December has been published. January's issue is currently in production; it will be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There is a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Want to jump right into editing? The style guidelines show things you should include.
- Want to assist in some current backlogs within the project? Visit the Film Tasks template to see how you can help.
- Want to know how good our articles are? Our assessment department has rated the quality of every film article in Wikipedia. Check it out!
- Want to collaborate on articles? The Cinema Collaboration of the Week picks an article every week to work on together.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Nehrams2020 01:46, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Message from RVDDP2501 about Real Ghostbusters List
Hi Salamurar, listen, I'm sorry if my edit to the list of Episodes for the Real Ghostbuster has cause so much problems, I know I'm not the one who is posting messages saying its wrong but I feel bad that this problem started after my edit, I thought the list was wrong because episodes which had better picture quality were listed before ones with older quality, I went to Tv.com which is where I found the list with the dates and since I have found that site reliable for other shows and since the list was seemingly in order, placed it on the wiki page, what would you recommend we do about this? Onca again, sorry if there was any trouble caused. (I have low self confidence and I don't like to step on toes) - RVDDP2501 23:48, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply, I hope I can be of help, let me know how you get through with the list, thank you - RVDDP2501 15:55, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Lion Videos
That was not linkspam. There are no lion videos on this page, and wikipedia does not yet have a mature way to include a video as media. Please look at my discussion with User talk:Robert Merkel . The linked page is a simple page with no ads and no other content except for the video. Why do you consider such a page link spam?
Isewell 04:02, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
No harm done - thanks for the kind note. I'll revert. I understand that linking one's own page is usually spam-like, and once wikipedia grows up a little more and and has a mature tight integration of video, I'd be more than happy to upload my vids to commons and replace my links with those. But until that happens, I figure it's better to have a link to an external site rather than no vids at all. Thanks again and keep chasing those vandals! :)
numbering lists
I've seen somewhere, and cannot find, formatting for how to continue the numbering of a list, so I can use the '#' numbering system instead of typing in the numbers. This is for a track list, where there are two alternate versions with five extra tracks each, that don't match. What is this code? Help! Salamurai 00:08, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
- Just separate the list items with a blank line when you want the numbering to reset :) Bjelleklang - talk Bug Me 00:17, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
- I need the list to start with the next number, not #1 again. For example, the list ended with 12, the new lists (for each different version) need to start with 13. I guess I worded my question improperly. Salamurai 03:29, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
- Have a read of the Help:List page. It will most likely explain it there. Hope that helps; happy editing! Extranet is now E talk 03:41, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

"General Hospital"
Two issues with the "General Hospital" bit on Lincoln (album):
- If Flansburgh's grandfather was a general with the last name of Hospital, that should be spelled out -- currently it reads as if "General" were his given name
- A reference is sorely needed -- I searched and only found a note on a fan wiki that Flansburgh had "facetiously" described his grandfather as "General Hospital".
Thanks, -- Shunpiker 22:18, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
- Duly noted. I tend toward appearance cleanup and vandal beatdowns over researching and adding info. I hunted up more info and a reference, and have included the General's full name.Salamurai 03:16, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, and good work! -- Shunpiker 04:32, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Your post on my talk page is incorrect. WP:REDIRECT holds that there is never a need to replace a link to a redirect that sends readers directly to a page (as is the case with telemovie) with the kind of link that you used. Specifically, under the "Don't fix links to redirects that aren't broken" section, it says, " In particular, there should never be a need to replace [[redirect]] with [[target|redirect]]." (Emphasis in original.) It then goes on to refute the notion that making edits such as yours somehow improve server performance. Croctotheface 18:10, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for cleaning up the references on the Coverdell article
Thanks, I really like the job you did cleaning up the references on the Paul Coverdell article. I really learned something I didn't know before on how to group references. Reservoirhill 14:18, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
Rem gaps
Dear SM
Thanks for putting the gallery in the right place in the article on Gemmotherapy, however are you sure about that the page looks better with the gaps removed - eg to my eye the TOC is now squashed up against the intro. But maybe this is house style? Please advise.
Thanks, Nick 81.48.221.9 21:12, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
- It's my understanding that whitespace gaps are to be avoided; I don't know for sure if there's an official policy in the style manual because I can't find it, but it usually looks strange to have. I'm guessing that the sitewide stylesheets for regular paragraphs and for bulleted lists are different, because if the last line is bulleted it looks too close, and if a regular paragraph it doesn't. So I put a space back in. Thanks for mentioning it, now I have something else to look for!Salamurai 21:58, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with you that a space seems a bit too much and no space definitely too little in this case. A half space would be a nice option, but I guess it doesn't exist in WikiMedia. Also, I think, between the end of the last para and the gallery (although the latter is kind of OK without one). I haven't had much of a chance to check out house style or common usage, but I'll keep my eyes open. Thanks, Nick 83.195.109.218 09:12, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:JoanJettSinner.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:JoanJettSinner.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 20:50, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
