Please note that the above page is a redirect page - there shouldn't be any content on it other than to redirect the page to NOP. In particular, since Wikipedia is not a dictionary, the content you were adding was inappropriate anyway. Thanks. GBT/C 13:01, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, seriously...stop editing the page. It's bordering on vandalism. GBT/C 13:03, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
Your message
[edit]Thanks for your message - why do you think I'd want to take any action against your account? You made your edits, they got reverted, end of story - and at least you stopped! I've lost count of the number of accounts where people create an account, do wanton vandalism for five minutes then get blocked forever.
Let me let you in on a little secret. My first contribution to Wikipedia was a wonderfully created, fantastically sourced, brilliantly illustrated article about a completely made up mountain climber. It took me ages to write (offline) - I posted it, and it lasted ten minutes before getting deleted. That sparked my interest - how did someone know that I'd even made the article in the first place? (Turns out there's a page that lists new pages : Special:Newpages and people monitor it just to make sure people don't add complete nonsense). I dug around a bit more, liked what I saw, and less than a year later I had a bunch of brand new articles under my belt and was made an administrator. Poacher turned gamekeeper. So, and I don't know if you'll ever log back in and see this message, but in case you do - why not stick around. Do something useful (pick a random article, find some spelling mistakes, or whatever) and contribute. It's a volunteer project - the way I look at it is that I use it, so I should "pay" for it. Anyway, if you do come back and want to help out, let me know. Either leave a message here (I'll watchlist this page - another thing to learn about) or on my talk page. Thanks! [edit]Thanks for that - I appreciate your words. Yeah, I'll keep my eyes open when I'm looking around - and stick to minor edits for now until I know what I'm doing!!! Once again, thanks for your thoughts and time.
- No worries. Feel free to leave me a message on my talk page (which you can find here) if you need any help. And don't forget when leaving comments on talk pages (but not when editing articles) to sign your posts - pop four tildes (~) at the end of your comment and the computer will magically turn them into your signature for you.
