Why can't I edit Wikipedia?
Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but it is considered inappropriate for such groups to use Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.
- Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organization for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
- What can I do now?
You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
- Add the text
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page. - Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
- Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.

Here's a few key questions:
- Do you understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a business directory?
- Do you understand conflict of interest?
- Do you understand that to be considered for an encylopedia article, the subject must be considered to be notable?
You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a subject that you are trying to create an article about, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to break the 3 important questions above. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 14:31, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
{{unblock-coiun|SebastianGumpp|Hello Spartaz, I fully understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. Therefore I strictly pay attention just to write neutral facts. We had a merger this year and found a lot of outdated and wrong information on the existing Wikipedia articles about us. So I decided to create a clean and correct entry.
I also understand that it's not a business directory. But in my opinion a company with around 47000 workers is a worth to be mentioned in Wikipedia.
Regarding the conflict of interest: of course this can be a problem. Your/Wikipedia's point is clear.
I don't believe that all the Wikipedia entries about companies were created by people that don't work for that company. I do believe that a lot of PR agencies or marketing people add content to that articles. In my case I wanted to make it at least visible for everyone where the author is from. I thought this transparency is more adequate for Wikipedia than using a random pseudonym. That was the reason to chose my current username. If I had chosen another name we wouldn't have this discussion now and I could work on the article without any obstacles. But the situation itself would be the same -> company worker writes about his company.
But if the only way for unblocking my account is not to continue editing the Renesas article then I won't do that anymore. I accept that the guidelines of Wikipedia are more important for the encyclopedia than my interest.
I hope I could at least made my point of view clear and persuade you that I just wanted to provide neutral information in my article. Thanks!}}
