illustrations

[edit]

Would they no longer be eligible for FPC? Would all vector art fall into Featured Diagrams? Debivort 05:45, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It would be changed to FMC and they would have their own judging criteria. I would think that it would make sense to have all photographs go under one area and all human created 2D work to be under another heading. There is different criteria, and most created work can be re-worked and re-scaled. -Ravedave (help name my baby) 06:57, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

SVG

[edit]

Can we bring in some Sysop-level expertise about the SVGs and how they render with the Wikimedia software? If, as has been my experience, fonts render inconsistently across browsers and image size, I would vigorously object to a requirement that forces people to use this format. Perhaps there is a trick in saving them from Illustrator that I do not know, in either case, I think greater outside expertise is needed. Debivort 05:45, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea. This is exactly what having different sub-sections under featured media would do, get people to ask questions specific to the media type and hopefully build a community of people that are knowledgeable in items like the above. Right now there is a wonderful community of photographers, but none for audio, diagrams or video. -Ravedave (help name my baby) 06:57, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
