Information icon Hello, Port Warwick. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Port Warwick, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Robert (Bobby) Freeman requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://towerparkmanagement.com/about-robert-freeman-jr/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit]
Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Red Phoenix talk 17:06, 7 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I did not realize the username I picked to set up my account was not allowed. Can you please review and allow me to make meaningful edits?

Decline reason:

Your username was only one small part of the problem here. You'll need to address your inappropriate edits, too. Yamla (talk) 15:14, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I did not realize the error in my username and have requested it to be changed. In response to the edits, I was creating a biography and took information from our website for the biography. I now understand copying directly from a website, even if we wrote the information, is not allowed and I will ensure to not do this again. I am a new user and these were both honest mistakes.

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Yamla (talk) 11:29, 4 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

What about WP:COI? What about WP:PAID? What about WP:PROMO? What about WP:SPA? --Yamla (talk) 15:21, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

What else do I need to do?

I will not use Wikipedia for an promotion, I will not use it for advocacy, I am not receiving any money for my edits and/or time and I under the conflict of interest in regards to editing with a biased opinion.

You talk about what you will not do on Wikipedia; can you give some examples of edits you would plan to make if unblocked? SpencerT•C 16:08, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I am a writer, I travel often and I have lived in the same area all of my life. If unblocked, I would edit information pertaining mostly to places. I don't intend on doing many edits, but if I saw something that was inaccurate, I would edit it. For example, I created the account because Port Warwick is completely written in future tense. This is a development that has been up and running for 20 years now. Some of the information is not accurate and it should be changed to present tense. That is why I initially created the account was to edit those items.

Please do not make every comment an unblock request, only one open request is needed at a time(closed requests must remain until the block is removed). 331dot (talk) 16:44, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have not heard anything else back - is there something else I need to do?

As the blocking administrator, I want to see reassurance that you have read WP:COI and understand what an encyclopedic tone is. Your edits did not simply constitute updating to the present tense, but also included additions that were promotional in tone for an encyclopedia article. For example, calling Port Warwick “award-winning” in the very first sentence screams of promotion, factual or not. Every edit must adhere to a neutral point of view and that includes in the tone of the writing. Otherwise, if you can show me that you understand your edits were promotional in tone and that you understand why this is not acceptable, I’ll reach out to a global renames and we’ll work on an unblock then.
