Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of Chopped episodes (seasons 1–20), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Plantain. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:16, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Top Chef episode lists

[edit]

Hello there. I've been going through all the Top Chef articles and editing the episode lists to match the format/style used for the most recent seasons. I've finished Seasons 1-9 and I'm currently at Season 10 (Seattle). I know you've been expanding the episode descriptions for some of the mid-season articles for quite some time now. However, I wanted to inform you that I'm considering reverting everything back to what it was before your expansions. Per MOS:TVEPISODE, episode summaries need to be complete, yet brief (it's called a "summary" for a reason). These summaries really shouldn't include every single dish from every single contestant; the only ones that matter are the winning and losing dishes. There is simply an overwhelming amount of nonessential information, especially during the early episodes where there are 15+ contestants.

I'm hoping to get your opinion on the matter before I start doing anything. Thank you. Wani (talk) 00:07, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your copyedits

[edit]

Hi,

I notice you are making edits that move punctuation from outside to inside quotation marks, such as this one. You should familiarize yourself with the manual of style, particularly MOS:LQ before making any more such edits. Thanks, William Avery (talk) 10:25, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

What he said. And worse, here, here, here, here, here, and here, you've altered quotations. Unless you went back and checked the source one by one and you were actually fixing and conforming the quotes, please undo them and all other such instances (the diffs I named aren't exhaustive) ASAP. Nardog (talk) 02:10, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Abner Vinícius

[edit]

Hi. Are you a native speaker of English? These changes were not improvements. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 15:02, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I am, which is how I knew that this sentence was missing a word, which I added and you removed. - On 15 January 2023, Abner joined La Liga club Real Betis having agreed a contract until 2029. Pinkpollyanna (talk) 18:39, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. "Agree a contract" is fine in British English – see https://www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/contract. I've reinstated one of your changes. I still think the commas before "before" and "having" are unnecessary. Robby.is.on (talk) 19:41, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Punctuation goes outside quotes

[edit]

Hello, in regard to this edit, MOS:LOGICAL says that punctuation belongs outside quotes (except where it's terminating a direct quotation). Putting the punctuation inside the quotes, as you did, is not MOS compliant and not a correction, but rather entirely the opposite. Polyphemus Goode (talk) 17:39, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! I see that you've been on a spree adding external links lately. However, I think it would be helpful to slow down and take a bit more care with these additions and ensure that they are in accordance with WP:EL. For example, in this edit you added an external link to Olympedia, but that same link is already a citation, so it shouldn't be used as an external link per WP:ELDUP.
