Some things to consider

[edit]

Hello, Oren. After reviewing this article here are some points to consider, in order to make it a better wiki-article -

  • A general note -- after mentioning her full name at the beginning, make sure you address her by her last name, not her first.
  • In terms of structure - it would be best to have a short biography at the beginning, then a paragraph about her work, then education, then awards, exhibitions, references, external links & see also [if needed].
  • It would be great to have a photo of her and maybe a gallery of photos illustrating her art. Of course, you'll need to upload these photos to Commons first, with the appropriate Creative Commons license.

When in doubt, or simply for inspiration, you can always take a look at already existing featured articles about artists, to get an idea of what makes an article a really good one. Hope this helps.

Good luck with your exhibition, Shani. (talk) 22:54, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Shani, your input has been very helpful. I've done as you suggested. Do you think the article is ready to go to main space ? OrenBochman (talk) 07:50, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup and COI

[edit]

This article was created in response to a call by Sue Gardner at Wikimania 2011 for more articles within the scope of GLAM and covering women subject. While it is not the only glam related article I have worked on, it is quite useful as a "passport" when explaining/negotiating new Glam with large institutions which are familiar with Bochman. As such the article has to date been of some service to Wikipidia rather than to its subject or contributors.

Also we have licensed a number of images to support this articles through OTRS and are working on licencing some new Philatelic materials pending some legal consultation.

This article has already been vetted by two respected members of the community to resolve any COI issues before it was placed into Mainspace. However if any issues turn up they should be brought up here on the talk page or rectified in the article. The history of this article demonstrates that there has been significant community work since it's creation. BO | Talk 12:15, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Is the COI accusation correct or not? If correct, why do you edit the article? The Banner talk 13:11, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
AFAIK all WP:COI issues have been resolved. Until you or someone else are able to point out actual neutrality issues which cannot be fixed then accusation of COI are just empty personal attacks. So the the burden is on you. Have you identified WP:N issues? Have you tried to correct them but got rolled back ? BO | Talk 14:38, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I just asked you a question to know if the accusation is correct or not. The Banner talk 20:12, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
In that case I beg your pardon! BO | Talk 23:59, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Clean up

[edit]

Due to the COI-concerns is have started a rather harsh clean up. First step was the removal of all the unsourced stamps and exhibitions. It is a pity that the most important source ( Keren, Daniel (February 7, 1997). "News From the Stamp Den: Dvora Bochman of Israel Designs Stamps for the East African Nation of Kenya". Algemeiner Journal (New York): p. 82. can not be found on the website of the Algemeiner Journal. It would be nice to have a direct link to one of the mentioned articles, if available. Unfortunately, the sources provided by the Kenya Times seems to be dead links by now, as the whole newspaper is closed down and wound up. So we are left with sources we can not verify on one hand and a COI on the other hand. But I am unable to dig any deeper... The Banner talk 11:05, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Banner thanks for your effort but unfortunately you have butchered the article while ignoring your own COI as well as WP:V.
The "Cleanup" is disruptive on so many level I do not know where to start without bringing insult - to an far more experienced editor. I make point that you have removed nothing due to WP:N or Pov pushing. I therefore officially request you undo your edits ASAP. BO | Talk 11:33, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
My own COI? Now I am interested! Explain, please! The Banner talk 13:35, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Nevermind - I added some summaries for the sources in hebrew as well as links to the two available online BO | Talk 02:42, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
