Information icon Hello, I'm John from Idegon. I noticed that you made one or more changes to an article, Tahoma High School, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Also, both images you added are copyright violation. The logo is displayed on the school's website, which is marked as copyrighted, and you've offered no proof that you have any authority to upload a photo belonging to the school, which you freely acknowledged is the case. Copyright issues are taken quite seriously here. John from Idegon (talk) 22:56, 26 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the note, Nolan. I'm very direct and many people do think I'm a jerk, when that's not my intention at all.
Good news is, you can still use the logo, you just have to go about it differently. It's one of those things that since I've done it so many times, I find it hard to explain how to do it in a way a novice will understand, so I'm going to ask you to ask at the Teahouse how to upload a "fair use" logo. You must upload it here, to English Wikipedia, not Commons, and the wizzard will walk you through it. The confusing part is the fair use rationale that you must add. You can find more info at WP:NFCC. Your best bet for a picture of the school is, if it's possible, just go take one. That you can upload to Commons and release it under a CC license, since you will own the copyright on it.
A couple notes on adding images to the infobox school template. First, if you want both a logo and a photo in the infobox, it's better to use the "picture" parameter rather than the "image" parameter. That will place the photo at the bottom of the infobox rather than under the logo at the top. Having two images at the top of the infobox creates what journalists call a tombstone. It's visually distracting. Second, for any image added in the infobox, the markup you'd use to add it elsewhere in the article is not needed. So, if your logo is located at File:Foo logo.jpg all you need in the infobox is |logo=Foo logo.jpg, no brackets, no "File:", no sizing info. The template will idealize the size for the device the page is being viewed on. Happy editing! John from Idegon (talk) 05:03, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm SounderBruce. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Maple Valley, Washington, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please be mindful of choosing good sources, especially when writing about local issues. Do not add directories of businesses, as they are not considered encyclopedic.
