Your Featured picture candidate has been promoted
Your nomination for featured picture status, File:EscombrosBelAir5 Edit1.jpg, gained a consensus of support, and has been promoted. If you would like to nominate another image, please do so at Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates. Maedin\talk 21:47, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to the encyclopedia! In case you are not already aware, an article to which you have recently contributed, Global warming, is on article probation. A detailed description of the terms of article probation may be found at Wikipedia:General sanctions/Climate change probation. Also note that the terms of some article probations extend to related articles and their associated talk pages.

The above is a templated message. Please accept it as a routine friendly notice, not as a claim that there is any problem with your edits. Thank you. -- TS 14:17, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I note that you have commented on the first phase of Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Biographies of living people

As this RFC closes, there are two proposals being considered:

  1. Proposal to Close This RfC
  2. Alternate proposal to close this RFC: we don't need a whole new layer of bureaucracy

Your opinion on this is welcome. Okip 03:21, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Mostlyharmless. If you agree that nobody pushed anything in the article, could you please cross out your statement? [1] Of course I did not mean your "oppose" I am very fine with it. Only the statement about pushing. Thanks.--Mbz1 (talk) 14:02, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Arctic shrinkage article

[edit]

Hi Mostlyharmless. I've suggested a name change on the talk page for the article Arctic Shrinkage. Since you have edited the article and also have commented on the topic of the title in the past, I'm hoping to solicit your thoughts about this proposed name change on that talk page, if you get a chance. Note that I am proposing that the article should be renamed to "Arctic warming", since the term "Arctic shrinkage" seems to have been coined by wikipedia, is not in common usage outside of wikipedia, and is a bit confusing. Thanks, --Abc-mn-xyz (talk) 19:42, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there. I'm not sure if you intended put that note on the article, however, I've moved it to the more appropriate talk page. cheers --Merbabu (talk) 06:16, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Community input required: lowering delist bar at FPC

[edit]

You are receiving this because of your current or past association with the Featured Pictures project. Following on from several cases where closers did not observe the prescribed minimum votes required for a delisting, there is now a motion to entirely dismiss the requirement for a minimum. Please participate in the discussion as wide-ranging changes may arise.

Not a "Black Power salute"

[edit]

In August 2008, in the talk page, you pointed out that the wiki article 1968 Olympics Black Power salute that the article was incorrectly attributed to Black Power and that the article should be renamed. You currently have the opportunity to vote in favor changing the articles name to something that supports the actual intentions of John Carlos and Tommie Smith. Goto talk:1968 Olympics Black Power salute page "Requested Move" section at the bottom to vote. Xybernauts (talk) 16:14, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Woodenhead.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Woodenhead.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 16:18, 19 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am coming from the German Wikipedia and was interested in that article, because I was curious what the often more neutral and open minded en-WP would say about it. Much to my surprise, I deem it not to be very satisfying, to put it extremely moderate. I have studied this conflict quite a bit and was not amused how some users nearly seem to fight to keep out any reference to, lets call it involvement of the government in dirty activities, under the pretense of the term "conspiracy theory". I saw that you tried to get in some of those aspects, obviously not with much successs. I thought about writing down a small 'essay' making some points for more extensive coverage of these allegations on the talk page, but wanted to ask beforehand if this might be a waste of time anyway... 217.7.150.122 (talk) 12:36, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
