Hello! Your submission of 2010 Dallas Cowboys season at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Nomader (Talk) 09:17, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

A quarterback does not make a touchdown, he throws one. Also, you shouldn't begin a sentence with but as you did in "But the Raiders replied as McFadden ran 51 yards for a touchdown". ~ Richmond96 t • c 22:37, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

Re Questionable revert
The web site you refer to copied and pasted my words which i created for the Speech and Language Pathology article. So my revert of your deletion was correct. They copied my word from Wikipedia and pasted them on their web site. May be you sould check these thing first, before making wild insinuations. dolfrog (talk) 20:44, 28 December 2010 (UTC)

Blanking userpage of indef blocked users
I don't think it's just you that does this, so don't take it personally, but it's not terribly helpful to instantly blank the userpage and add the template to someone who has been indefinitely blocked for something other than enforcement of a ban, or where it is clear that they have exhausted the community's patience. In this case, User:Neptunekh2 has been indefinitely blocked until they come up with some kind of response regarding their repeated copyvios. Blanking their userpage wasn't particularly helpful in this case. The guidance was changed about 18 months ago, see Category:Temporary_Wikipedian_userpages. Possibly something I should raise as a more general thing also - as I say, you're not the only person who does it. --Elen of the Roads (talk) 11:24, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
- I understand that I was being quite rude there, blanking pages without permission from the blocked user and I was very lucky not to blank Squeakbox's userpage too. I'll promise next time to only blank when the community bans the user. Minimac (talk) 17:28, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
Happy, happy
FN FAL: Thank you for your message. I gave my grounds on the talk page and added information from the Wiki entry on '(sic)' which I think is more than sufficient to demonstrate good faith, considering that the reverters have failed to do the same. I trust that you have sent the same threat to them? Pleasw also take into account the collusion by other reverters to divide the number of reversions.Keith-264 (talk) 19:16, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
- You're welcome. I haven't sent that message to anyone else for a reason: The reporter of the AN3 incident (That's Brookesward) didn't make as many reverts as you did (He made about two) and the other person (Which I'm referring to as MFIreland) did make three reverts as well, but they were made a bit earlier and I just thought that it's a bit late to give him a warning unless he reverts again. Minimac (talk) 20:13, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
There has been another itervention on my talk page which suggests to me that there is a clique involved. I request that you contact all involved and suggest that they thrash the matter out on the discussion page where I explained my action.Keith-264 (talk) 10:46, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Request regarding "Fair Use"
I have read the pages I have been pointed to, but can not work out what the problem is. Are you able to explain to me (simply, please) why File:CA-Army-OF9.gif may not appear on page Canadian Forces Land Force Command? (If you are able, I will be extremely greatful.) Thanks in advance. Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 12:40, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
- Sadly, I can't. I'm not very good at dealing with files so I can't help. I think you were questioning why I reverted the edit again. Technically I only reverted Lerd's edit (which had no reason) and came up with an edit summary agreeing with delta and Black Kite's point of view. You could ask one of these two if you're looking for help. Minimac (talk) 14:32, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply.
- "I think you were questioning why I reverted the edit again." - No.
- You had not been involved in the kerfuffle, and therefore seemed to be independent. I just assumed that, as you had done the revert, you had knowledge of the subject matter.
- No big deal. Cheers (and thanks), Pdfpdf (talk) 14:40, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Re: Game Summaries
I noticed that you removed almost all the game summaries in the 2010 Jacksonville Jaguars season. I think it's silly to remove them all because of "poor grammar", even though I do have to admit myself that I am not very good at the English language despite being a native speaker of it. The poor grammar that I was constantly making throughout the NFL season could've easily been fixed with a lot of copyediting in my opinion, like some other editors have done. Minimac (talk) 07:15, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
- That is true, however I did not have time to do a lot of copy editing and I thought that the summaries hurt the article more than they contributed to it. I do plan to add them back at a later date, like I did with the Indianapolis game. I just thought it would be better to start from scratch. Another problem I had was that nearly every one of them started with "hoping" or "coming". It got very redundant. Plus, all of the games have scoring summaries already. ~ Richmond96 t • c 14:29, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
- That last bit you said there about the fact that some scoring summaries were placed there already. I did have an intention not to write if the info is visible there already, like for example in the Green Bay section. I now understand why you removed the game summaries. I think you were thinking "If the info is there, why should it be placed here again?" Minimac (talk) 16:34, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
- I also think that it is nice to have a summary in paragraph style, but only if they provide more information than the other style. Does that make sense? I felt like some of your summaries were simply restating what was already presented in the info box. I don't think the article is any less informational now that they are gone. 2009 New England Patriots season has some excellent summaries, in my opinion, even though they are quite lengthy. I think that is the kind of summary we should all aim for. ~ Richmond96 t • c 20:55, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Yung Rolo
I notice you removed db-bio from Yung Rolo. Please note that the "awards" claimed are from Vanesity3, which is a YouTube channel. He's quite non-notable. Thanks, Borkificator (talk) 12:37, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
- Oops! Yes, I have realised that mistake. I should have linked the awards to check if they're notable, not just remove the speedy deletion tag just because he won an award. I have to remember, if the awards are notable, then the person should be kept, if not, which was like what happened here, I would agree with the deletion. Minimac (talk) 12:44, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
- OK then if you don't mind, I'll restore the speedy. Note that this article has been speedied three times, as has YUNG ROLO. Thanks, Borkificator (talk) 12:47, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

copypaste tags
I'm a bit concerned about your removal of some copypaste tags as in many cases I wouldn't have removed them. I'm not accusing you of doing anything wrong but I do think we have a difference of opinion over when these should be rmeoved. As you, the nominator, have apparently changed your mind regarding the accuracy and correctness of the AfD based on your last comments on that thread to a third party, you should immediately withdraw the nomination. Rms125a@hotmail.com (talk) 15:02, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
I removed the link because this seem to be a content mapper which online (rewrite?) copy and past wikipedia articles. This is not a reliable source! mabdul 17:11, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- Huh? I thought that link I've put in owns the copyright of the text. I never saw a message on the site saying that the text copies from Wikipedia. I do know some sites which do this, but not this one. Minimac (talk) 18:59, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- If you went through http://siggysoft.org/ you will find more text and this link you added is also only a rewrite of the wikipedia article. (read the full article and you will recognize) That the notice is missing doesn't mean anything as you said. There are many websites out there that copying Wikipedia without leaving the notice. Again: the similarities are too much to say they "invented" the text... mabdul 19:39, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Edit Conflict Confusion
Hello: I was editing my boss' page, when my edits were tagged for copyright conflict from his website. My colleague created his personal website and we want his wiki page to be similar. How can there be any copyright conflict when the page was created by us. What would be our best way to keep the information relevant but not have any more "conflicts" so we can have his Wiki page updated.
Lehmantj (talk) 13:28, 4 April 2011 (UTC)lehmantj
- I removed the addition because it looked like the text appeared to be copied and pasted from this site, which I thought would be violation of a copyright. If you do know who the copyright holder of the website is, (Which I assume, is your colleague) I think the best way to get around this problem is to advise your colleague to create an account, and then let him take a look at WP:DCM, as this has the best explanation of how to bring one's own copyrighted work onto Wikipedia. I hope you understand this. Minimac (talk) 17:12, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
Anna Hazare Page
Hello, It was about Anna Hazare's "Social Life" from his own organization website. I just put information from that website to his page on wikipedia so nothing wrong. I was not using for my personal use or my personal website. Wikipedia will loose, because I was writing Wikipedia reference to news website - http://www.ndtv.com, http://ibnlive.in.com, http://www.divyabhaskar.co.in and http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com to support Anna Hazare. That will highly advertise Wikipedia name in India through this reference but now I will directly reference Anna Hazare website: http://www.annahazare.org/biography.html, instead Wikipedia. 193.63.25.97 (talk) 20:04, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, posting any content provided by someone who owns the copyright of the work onto Wikipedia is still a copyright violation, because you're actually doing the copy and paste move (from what I suspect you copied off facebook) without permission from the copyright holder. I'm afraid I need to get some sleep now, but for further advice as to how to avoid any more copyright violations I suggest you read WP:Copyrights, WP:Copyright violations and Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. ZooPro RFA
Coincidentally, the fledgling RFA task force has just been discussing stats. We've been surprised to find that the most active participants at RFA actually support far more often than they oppose, debunking the myth that "regulars" are what makes the process so contentious sometimes. I'm sure you were already aware that you have supported far more candidates that you have opposed in the last year, but you may be interested to know that in the last year you participated in 116 RFAs, supporting 73 times, opposing 30 times, neutral 13 times. Full stats viewable in a sortable table at User:Kudpung/RfA reform/Voter profiles. It's a big table so if your connection or computer is slow it may take some time to load the page. Sheffield Youth Orchestra
Hello, you're correct that I have 'plagiarised' a web source: I plagiarised my own web source. I am the creator of that website, and the text within belongs to the orchestra of which I am a member. The fact that a similar version of the text appears in a separate website of the orchestra (last updated in 2006, I had no idea that it existed and I run the orchestra website) isn't reason to have it removed from Wikipedia.
