Insight
MAC--After updating the Insight Enterprises page, I received a warning and it went back to the page with outdated and incorrect information.
Was it the listing of the awards and accomplishments that set off the warning? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chuck.king (talk • contribs) 19:49, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
- The list of awards and accomplishments wasn't the main problem, although the section was completely unreferenced. The main problem was the promotional language, e.g. "Insight remains a true partner with their clients by providing continuous assistance and support through the entire IT lifecycle." . . Mean as custard (talk) 19:55, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
MAC--Made the update and removed promo language. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chuck.king (talk • contribs) 20:41, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
- Not good enough. You have merely removed the one specific example of promotional language that I mentioned. All the other promotional material and unreferenced claims remain. . . Mean as custard (talk) 21:05, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
MAC--Will work on the language. The question around the claims still remains. All these awards and accomplishments are listed on one page our site. Do I need to reference each one on Wiki (that will go to the same page, over and over)or can I reference the section? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chuck.king (talk • contribs) 22:51, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
- In my opinion, if the only mention that can be found of these "awards and accomplishments" is on the company's own website, then they are not notable and their inclusion would just be another form of promotion. Independent unbiased references would need to be found for each award to show its notability. . . Mean as custard (talk) 08:44, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
MAC--I made an additional update, removed all promotional language and took out awards and accolades. Very little is there. Still is reverting back to an outdated bio. Please provide feedback. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chuck.king (talk • contribs) 22:12, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
- I suspect it was because you removed a lot of cited material critical of the company (though its lasting notability is debatable), and added promotional-sounding phrases like "Insight's eight solution domains" and "Insight has evolved into a comprehensive IT solutions provider". . . Mean as custard (talk) 08:47, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
Hi there! Thanks for moving this article to the real name again. Morgan Katarn (talk) 10:11, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for attempting to fix this article. Unfortunately, even the small amount that remains is still a copyright violation of the company's website (specifically one of its Annual Reports). As such, I've added the G12 template back again. Yunshui 雲水 10:17, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
- There is so little content left it could hardly be a copyright violation, but I will leave it for an admin to decide. . . Mean as custard (talk) 10:20, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: User talk:Plgpllc
Hello Mean as custard, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User talk:Plgpllc, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: talkpages are not typically deleted - will remove offending portions. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 13:44, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
- The main intention of the tag was to alert an admin that this user was continuing to spam their user talk page after being blocked for spamming. . . Mean as custard (talk) 13:46, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
Improper use of rollback
Hi there Mean as custard. I don't think of this rollback was within the guidelines of the usage of rollback. Wikipedia:Rollback says: "Use of standard rollback for any other purposes – such as reverting good-faith changes which you happen to disagree with – is likely to be considered misuse of the tool." It looked like a good-faith edit by a newbie to me. Getting your contributions removed with a generic edit summary is not the best way to get introduced to Wikipedia. David1217 00:31, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
- You're quite right; I will be more careful in future. . . Mean as custard (talk) 08:09, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

Hi, why do you keep reverting the Society of British Interior Design page? There is nothing promotionnal... — Preceding unsigned comment added by M.lody75 (talk • contribs) 09:42, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
- For a start, what about "For over two years, we have been creating a CPD Academy with our partners The Building Centre and we are encouraging graduates of recognised universities to apply for their honorary membership as we continue to support new talent. ". . . Mean as custard (talk) 09:44, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for your prompt vigalence on this. Paul, in Saudi (talk) 04:59, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
Huh?
Why did you revert your own revert? WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:07, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
- I only intended to revert the most recent edit, not roll back two edits. . . Mean as custard (talk) 16:09, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
Please Help
Dear Mean as custard,
I am updating the content for Al Ahliyya Amman University and you keep reverting it. Can you please guide me to update my content within the limit of Wikipedia regulations.

Crazy Town
Please see the article Brendan Fraser and read his career as an evidence that I didn't make any gramatical mistakes. Master Katarn (talk) 21:25, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
David T. Hon
Dear Mean as custard,
I have added extensive references to the David T. Hon article. Please review if you have the opportunity and consider removing the BLP sources and ad tags (or recommend revisions). Many thanks Typist28 (talk) 02:42, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
- Done. . . Mean as custard (talk) 07:45, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
Thank you, and very prompt. Typist28 (talk) 06:19, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
Robust Details Limited
Hello. I've added References to my page on Robust Details & updated comments on my own Talk page. Could you take a look and let me know if this is better? Thank you! Buildrd (talk) 11:03, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
- Looks pretty good now, though it might be useful to thoroughly clarify that it is an officially-sanctioned organisation and not just another company jumping on the bandwagon. . . Mean as custard (talk) 11:14, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
The leaders in userspace spam
Hi Mean as custard. As someone who often tags userspace spam, if you want somewhere to look for older stuff which has been missed, take a look at this search for occurrences of "leading" in userspace. I've already deleted tens of pages from there, but it looks as if there as thousands more waiting! I should credit User:PCock with having the idea in the first place. Happy hunting! Btw, have you considered asking for the tools to delete spam yourself? Your tagging is very good and I would certainly trust you with them. Cheers SmartSE (talk) 13:22, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
Reporting
As your wish, I've reported you. Let's see what the admins will say about your behavior. Master Katarn (talk) 13:49, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
- And the admins say... (well, I say) - WP:BOOMERANG applies and MK is blocked for 24 hours for edit-warring instead. Regards, BencherliteTalk 14:13, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
Management Information Systems Institute
It would be nice if you can tell me what do you would change to make the article acceptable. What is the main issue? Vesterday another wikihelper said the article is fine and even helped me to publish it.I am going to add the missing sources to the article. If the book is the problem I can change that.
Best regards
- It has now been deleted by an administrator but as I recall, the entire tone of the article was promotional and it had no references. . . Mean as custard (talk) 17:55, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
Adolf Hitler
Can you please tell me why you've reverted my last edit to this article and why the hell you will revert all of my edits?! I don't want to get blocked again because of edit warring caused by your stupid and aggressive reverting all the time! Master Katarn (talk) 15:22, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
- See your talk page. . . Mean as custard (talk) 15:23, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
- I already left an answer to that. Sorry, as I said, it was my fault. Cheers! Master Katarn (talk) 15:27, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
Advert removed per WP:Spam
Hey dude; been patrolling userspace, and I've seen a lot of your contributions like "Advert removed per WP:Spam". It's a good way forward, but can I suggest you just CSD them? That way they get properly removed ;). Ironholds (talk) 13:46, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
- I do with a lot of them, such as obvious spammers and those with promotional usernames, but it seems over-complicated for the less serious infractions. . . Mean as custard (talk) 13:53, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
- Fair does, then :). Ironholds (talk) 13:56, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
plz stop messing with my edits
I am in the process of edditing. I do not appreciate or welcome you reverts just when i am in the middle of a sentance. You are screwing up my work process and thoughts. please stop it. Stranded Pirate (talk) 07:59, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- You appear to be trying to link a person whose name is protected by the courts in a serious criminal case. Unless the name appeared in a published source you must not refer to it on Wikipedia. . . Mean as custard (talk) 08:04, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- Noone's name is protected anything. You are just assuming that with out facts behind you. You are just pooking your nose in and trying to stir things up by making all kinds of trouble. TWO admins have said that references do not go on disambiguation pages. They ONLY go in the article pages themselves. So please stay out now and let the rest of us work on this. thanks. Stranded Pirate (talk) 08:57, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
I think you had better look again at the reversions you carried out on this article. Strictly speaking it is your actions that could be construed as vandalism!!Petebutt (talk) 02:17, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
- I reverted the changes mainly because they said "Data from German Military Aircraft Designations (1933-1945). However this webpage quotes the Wikipedia article as its primary reference. This is clearly an example of a circular reference which I couldn't resolve. I tried to clarify in my second edit summary that it was not a case of vandalism. . . Mean as custard (talk) 07:43, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
Warning spammers (or lack of)
Hi. We appreciate your work in removing spam. I see that in some cases you failed to add a warnign to the users (e.g. User talk:Phackx), so they learn what is wrong with their posting. Also if no warnings are issued it makes it harder to block if they continue their behavior. We have some nice templates for this, like {{uw-spam2}} and {{uw-advert2}} for example. Have a nice day. -- Alexf(talk) 13:45, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
- I am beginning to come to the conclusion that is is less trouble to just let the spammers get on with it than to try and fix things. . . Mean as custard (talk) 14:08, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
