TUS terminal image

[edit]

Hey MasonJ0890- I have noticed you have taken [Image:Terminal Map 6.gif] out of the TIA article. Is this because you are updating the current locations and gate assignments or because you don't want the image in the article? Sox23 01:28, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Mason, when you get a chance could you update [Image:Terminal Map 6.gif] to include the recent changes (gate locations, etc...) Your map is great and improves the article! Thanks again, Sox23 20:06, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:L grd 200.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:L grd 200.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Aksibot 20:18, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hey Mason, unfortunately I'm not going to be a very big help...I was in Tucson for the first two weeks of June and don't plan on being back there until June of next year (we always take a summer vacation to Tucson) so I won't be able to get concourse photos for the article :( (which really is okay because the inside is a mess right now as they're improving everything for the concourse renovation project--i mean at least it is in the east concourse, and there were no really good pictues to take--the ceiling was gone, wires were everywhere (it looked like a disaster zone on the inside!) but if nobody gets concourse photos until next year, I will definitely get them next year, and they will be great because the concourse renovation project is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2008. To answer your other question, we almost always use MDW opposed to the congestion at ORD, so I don't really know who does UALX ground handling, but it is a pretty sizeable hub for UALX (they practically have two concourses for just UALX) so I would guess that UALX does its own...not sure though. If you have any other questions feel free to ask! Sox23 16:04, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aeolitoral

[edit]

Yeah I heard the same thing about Aerolitoral becoming Aeromexico Connect...though it says nothing about that on Aerolitoral's website...confusing...but don't worry bout the TUS pics - if you get to TUS you get to TUS (the concourses will prob still be a mess anyways..when I went out on Friday (6-15) the area was a mess by gate 21 b/c I think they're knocking down a wall to build gate 20? anyway there is no way they're finishing that mess anytime soon. I saw the new map and it looks great!

UA/TUS-IAD

[edit]

Hey Mason, since UA has ended their service to IAD could you update the route map on the TUS page whenever you get the chance. Thanks a lot

Sox23 15:48, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I read on airliners.net that it was originally seasonal then it was switched to year-round then the service was dropped completely on June 6 (reasons were b/c JB has service to JFK & CO has service to EWR) and then I checked on UA's timetable and the flight doesn't return at all...so Im thinking that the route has been cut. We can always add it back in if the flight returns Sox23 23:10, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

USAirways/PIT

[edit]

I think we should leave PIT as a secondary hub b/c after SAN & SEA are discontinued, PIT will still have 15+ destinations served (I think I counted 17?) and there is a lot of service by USAirways Express...so for now I would leave PIT as a secondary hub unless some drastic cuts are made...Sox23 19:22, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:GRR Route Map 072.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:GRR Route Map 072.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

I have nominated these images for deletion because you have not provided an adequate explanation (none, actually). Yea...I was on TUS' website and came across this: [1] which was a nice surprise. In regards to the diagrams on the O'Hare page- another user put them up and I just updated them to include the text on each Concourse/Terminal. I'm not too familiar with ORD [when we travel, we almost always use MDW] but I think you'll have better luck with Lex893. He is the one who uploaded them but those diagrams are his most recent edit (July 2007) so I don't know if he's still active? But thanks for updating the map.

Thank you for uploading Image:LynxAviation.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 03:59, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Locations of Destinations In California

[edit]

Hello MasonJ0890!

First off I would like to say that you have done a great job with the destinations and route map. The map looks great and is a tremendous addition to the TIA article.

However, as pointed out on the Talk Page, I would like to bring some slight errors to your attention.

San Diego should be just slightly north of the Mexican border. Los Angeles is where San Diego is and Ontario should be a little bit east of that.

Here is a California map with some of the accurate locations. Also, San Francisco is where San Jose actually is. SanFran should be slightly northwest of that. And then Oakland is due east, directly across the bay.

Once again, let me express my thanks for creating such a wonderful map and resource.

Chicago-Midway Route Map

Hey Mason-

I know you are very busy, but the route map on the MDW page will become very outdated in a few months with the discontinuation of all of ATA's service, as well as AirTran's reductions, and I do not know how to make the route maps like you do. If you have time, can you create a route map for the Chicago Midway International Airport page like the one you did for TUS. Let me know...thanks. Sox23 21:54, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

XJet/US Airways cuts at TUS

[edit]

Looks like yet more service cuts as XJet is ending GEG on June 4, and AUS on August 23. Also being cut is service to LAS (on US Airways- at least Southwest is keeping it) and we're losing mainline service to PHX on US Airways (hopefully it will be back though). Thank you for uploading images/media to Wikipedia! There is, however, another Wikimedia Foundation project called Wikimedia Commons, a central media repository for all free media. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 00:12, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:AmericanConnection.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:AmericanConnection.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:13, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Destination Map for Horizon Air destinations?

[edit]

I was wondering if you could do a destination map for Horizon Air destinations? I know you normally do for just an airport, but I am hoping to get an article like this up to FL status. I don't think lines connecting the routes would be needed, just markers for each of the airports. Thanks! --Admrboltz (talk) 16:23, 8 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[2] is a combined Alaska/Horizon map, but the article its self has wikilinks to all the airports so you can grab codes. Thanks! --Admrboltz (talk) 07:17, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An exciting opportunity to get involved!

[edit]

As a member of the Aviation WikiProject or one of its subprojects, you may be interested in testing your skills in the Aviation Contest! I created this contest, not to pit editor against editor, but to promote article improvement and project participation and camraderie. Hopefully you will agree with its usefulness. Sign up here, read up on the rules here, and discuss the contest here. The first round of the contest may not start until September 1st-unless a large number of editors signup and are ready to compete immediately! Since this contest is just beginning, please give feedback here, or let me know what you think on my talkpage. - Trevor MacInnis contribs 01:10, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

File:Phoenix-Mesa1C.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Phoenix-Mesa1C.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Phoenix-Mesa1C.jpg]]. I have conducted a reassessment of the above article as part of the GA Sweeps process. I have found some concerns with the referencing which you can see at Talk:Chicago Midway International Airport/GA1. I have placed the article on hold whilst these are fixed. Thanks. It says that you license this image under a cc-by-sa. However, this exact image can be found on the TIA website (as a PDF file). And similar, but slightly different, PDFs can be found on their site going back to 2001. So my question is whether you made this image yourself and the TIA website copied it without attribution or whether you found it on the TIA website and uploaded it to Wikipedia? Many thanks, -Atmoz (talk) 20:25, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Madison1A.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Madison1D.jpg.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. The file File:Tucson International Airport (terminal map 63).gif has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Orphaned map.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ~ Rob13Talk 21:27, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
