Help with your userpage

[edit]

Hi there. I saw the question you posted elsewhere; for future reference, if you're going to use {{helpme}}, please use it only on your own page.

As for your userpage, I will be happy to reformat it for you the way you would like. However, I charge a price for doing so: I want to see you make 25 constructive edits to mainspace (articles). Not spelling or grammar corrections; substantive additions of sourced material, including references to reliable sources. If these terms are favourable to you, I will be happy to make the changes after you make 25 edits. What do you say? roux ] [x] 04:07, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Rl2 wce.jpg}

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Rl2 wce.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Fair use rationale for File:Rugby_League_2_WCE_Cover.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Rugby_League_2_WCE_Cover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Rettetast (talk) 23:51, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of F1 Championship Season 2000

[edit]

A tag has been placed on F1 Championship Season 2000 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Thanks for uploading File:F1 Championship Season 2000 PS2 Cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Proposed deletion of Michael Jackson Video Game

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Michael Jackson Video Game, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

only a single source listed, delete per WP:CRYSTAL

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. RadioFan (talk) 12:45, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Where, exactly, is File:Formula1 2009.jpg on the internet? And where is it official? Darth Newdar (talk) 08:32, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

You changed the information on which season the F1 2010 (video game) will be based on. You need to check the ref again to see that 2010 is correct, not 2009. I quote from the ref:

Around what F1 season will the games be based?

Wii/PSP - Based on 2009

PC/PS3/Xbox360 - Based on 2010

See? However, the ref in the features section does say that it will feature tracks, drivers etc. from the 2009 season. I have reverted your edit. If you disagree with me, please leave me a message on my talk page by clicking hererather than doing your edit again and starting an edit war! Thanks,

A tag has been placed on File:Lazlow hosting The Lazlow Show.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ww2censor (talk) 05:07, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:The Lazlow Show Logo.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cricket 09. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

File source problem with File:Victory Tour Logo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Victory Tour Logo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited NRN, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Newcastle (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Non-free rationale for File:Foxtel iQ3.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Foxtel iQ3.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. SimBin and Sector3

This SimBin Studios page should have never been moved/merged to the Sector3 Studios page. They are 2 completely separate companies that should have 2 completely separate pages. How can we fix this?

Notice

The article 9StreamLIVE has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NTV and WP:GNG, as the article only has 2 refs. Only a few articles that link to 9StreamLIVE, one of them being TCN.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
