[edit]I appreciate that you are acting in good faith, but it is best if featured articles are nominated by people who have worked closely on them. In this way, they can give reasoned replies to reviewers and be familiar enough with the sources to act on suggested improvements. Someone who has not worked on the article can not provide this input, so the nomination may continue until opposition to it becomes so overwhelming that the article is failed; this takes away time from reviewers. While the Richard Dawkins article is of reasonable quality, it is not yet of featured quality, and principal contributors must be consulted before a nomination, as required in the featured article candidate instructions. Status and Advice
[edit]As reviewing administrator, I deleted the article, but for promotionalism, not failure to show importance. You did indicate importance. Whether it amounts to actual notability is something for the community to determine.
However, the article was extremely promotional, using adjectives of praise throughout. I tried at first to edit it, but I think it needs to be rewritten entirely. When you do that, include references to reviews of his books. Since the article asserts scientific publications, list them. And don't claim too many "noted for"s in the infobox. - I tried to keep it neutral but then it was nominated for speedy deletion for failing to assert importance so I may have gone too far in the other direction. I'll rework it. - OK. It's at User:Manicjedi/Mark Rippetoe. I was having second thoughts about that one; all you really need to prove notability is good published 3rd party book reviews. Undoubtedly there are some in specialist publications, but it might be claimed they review everything in the subject, so see if you can find some in general-interest magazines or newspapers. We had a period here when I joined 5 years ago where articles were being speedy-deleted as G11 if they didn't explicitly say in the first paragraph. " X is notable because ...". That has passed, but people still keep saying it. If I see a phrase like that now at NPP, I tend to remove it. Good luck with this.

Category:Films featuring the World Trade Center
[edit]I fired AWB up to have a look at this. First problem being the quality of the list is not great. There are redirects on it, and non-films. For example:
- American Psycho - novel
- Aftershock: Earthquake in New York - TV miniseries
- The 10th Kingdom - TV miniseries
- Autumn in New York is a dab page.
Second problem is people may object to the category. Categories are generally "a defining feature of the subject".
