Changes to the Shibutani sibling articles
[edit]Hi Lilydog945, can you explain why you changed the Shibutanis article? I merged these 2 articles together because I don't believe they each warrant a separate article. The main focus of their accomplishments is on the skaters as a team.
I noticed that you mentioned that the page "broke Google searches". Can you explain this? Natg 19 (talk) 03:38, 19 September 2020 (UTC)
Number one, the merges are COMPLETELY unnecessary, and many members of the figure skating community agree. Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir have individual pages, and they have skated together for their entire lives. Same with many other ice dance teams. Just because Maia and Alex are siblings doesn't mean they should have just one page. They are now beginning to go on separate paths with there being talk about Alex seeking out a new career in ice dance or theatre.
You merging the pages COMPLETELY ruined their search results. The infobox that comes up when you google "Maia Shibutani" was ruined, and Alex's still has yet to be completely fixed. The fact that you actually used Alex's original page for the "merged" page made it even worse. The most glaring dilemma behind this was that other wikipedia languages still had Alex's page! Even the Russians don't think it's necessary to merge the two skaters!
All in all, the merge was completely unnecessary. Members of sports teams have individual pages – this is no different.
Alex Shibutani has an RFC
[edit]Alex Shibutani has an RFC for possible consensus. A discussion is taking place. If you would like to participate in the discussion, you are invited to add your comments on the discussion page. Thank you.
Just notifying you about an RfC that I opened that relates to the discussion we had about the Shibutani ice dance partners. Natg 19 (talk) 00:46, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
PROD of Davis and White
[edit]Please read WP:PROD. It is very explicit. Removal of the PROD tag stops the proposed deletion process. Once the PROD tag is removed by anyone (even the original author) for any or no stated reason, it can not be restored. Your edit warring to restore the PROD tag will not get the article deleted. Once the PROD tag has been removed the next step is to take the article to WP:AFD. If you continue to edit war over an invalid Proposed Deletion template you could be blocked. ~ GB fan 13:53, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
