Is the first debut stage not important? Please open the debate.
It's Jakops' official position that the first debut stage is Mnet? Because you said the source was not clear, I provided the source, but suddenly you change the word that it's not important? 124.49.204.165 (talk) 12:43, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
- Yes it is not important their first debut stage should not be the lead but it can be in the body. Lightoil (talk) 12:46, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
- then why did you write they release their first song, tippy toes on the page? Can I delete it? in your logic, it's not important eiter. 124.49.204.165 (talk) 12:50, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
- I did not write that someone else wrote that. Furthermore their first single is more noteworthy than their first stage. Lightoil (talk) 12:53, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
- I think the first performance is more meaningful? What is the standard of whether you mean important or not?
- If you didn't fill it out, can I erase it? 124.49.204.165 (talk) 12:54, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
- Please do not remove content. Other artists have their debut song not stage. Lightoil (talk) 12:58, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
- If the conversation gets longer, I'll hold a discussion on the XG page. Do you agree on it ? 124.49.204.165 (talk) 12:55, 19 April 2023 (UTC)

Korea Entertainment Management Association rules in favor of ex-Loona’s Chuu on contract tampering BY JONATHAN HICAP Apr 4, 2023 01:12 PM
The Korea Entertainment Management Association (KEMA) has ruled in favor of former K-pop girl group Loona member Chuu regarding allegations by her former agency that she tampered with her exclusive contract in order to transfer to another agency. Last December, BlockBerry Creative filed a petition with KEMA and the Korea Entertainment Producers' Association (KEPA) to ban Chuu from working in the Korean entertainment industry. 139.47.41.130 (talk) 02:43, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
- We are waiting for Blockberry Creative to declare that they are former members but if you disagree please start a new discussion on Talk:Loona. Lightoil (talk) 02:49, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
- BlockBerry could not "declare" considering they have much more headaches. 애프터스쿨 never was declared over. As far of Modhaus they did already announced an exclusive contract. Could those undeclared LOONA memebers still be considered members of LOONA once they got a new contract and their new agency refers on its statement as "former Loona members"?
- And about the Korean Entertainment Management Association dismissing the petition to block Chuu's entertainment activities, also we are waitting for a Blockberry Creative to declare something I guess. ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯ 139.47.41.130 (talk) 03:12, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
- So do you want to try to change the consensus or not? Lightoil (talk) 03:33, 23 April 2023 (UTC)

About the rollback on RBW (company)#Recording artists
- Giuk (Onewe) made his solo debut in 2023 [1]
- David Yong joined the label in 2022 [2]
- Park Hyunkyu (Vromance) made solo debut in 2022 under his temporary contract with MA Ent. (benefit of being in Top 6 of "Sing Again 2"), but since he's still under the label, I think he is considered as an RBW soloist. [3]
- Park Janghyun (Vromance) made his solo debut in 2011 under Jellyfish Ent. [4] and started to release solo works again since 2022
- Park Jieun (ex-Purple Kiss) is still under RBW. And since no departure announcement has been made, presumptively so is Ravn (ex-Oneus). Although they have not made their solo debuts, but so hasn't Rachel (ex-April) under DSP.
- CSR's Japanese activities are managed by RBW Japan. [5]
- RBW acquired 50% of Urban Works Media in 2022[8], making RBW the largest shareholder and obtaining management rights, which makes Urban Works artists affiliated to RBW. [9]

- Following an RfC, editors indefinitely site-banned by community consensus will now have all rights, including sysop, removed.
- As a part of the Wikimedia Foundation's IP Masking project, a new policy has been created that governs the access to temporary account IP addresses. An associated FAQ has been created and individual communities can increase the requirements to view temporary account IP addresses.
- Bot operators and tool maintainers should schedule time in the coming months to test and update their tools for the effects of IP masking. IP masking will not be deployed to any content wiki until at least October 2023 and is unlikely to be deployed to the English Wikipedia until some time in 2024.
- The arbitration case World War II and the history of Jews in Poland has been closed. The topic area of Polish history during World War II (1933-1945) and the history of Jews in Poland is subject to a "reliable source consensus-required" contentious topic restriction.
- Following a community referendum, the arbitration policy has been modified to remove the ability for users to appeal remedies to Jimbo Wales.
Scottywong case opened
You recently offered a statement in a request for arbitration. The Arbitration Committee has accepted that request for arbitration and an arbitration case has been opened at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Scottywong. Evidence that you wish the arbitrators to consider should be added to the evidence subpage, at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Scottywong/Evidence. Please add your evidence by June 21, 2023, which is when the evidence phase closes. You can also contribute to the case workshop subpage, Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Scottywong/Workshop. Removal of information on XG's Page created by me
Hello, regarding my XG page edits which were rolled back for unreliable sources, which sources should I be looking to include since updating information and sources for a relatively new and middling kpop group seems different from something like medicine or politics, as there's prone to be less reliable and professional sources. Should I stick to sourcing using the group's official page, or would that interfere with rules against commercial sources? And how do I know which secondary sources are considered high brow and reliable enough to edit with? Also, regarding to the reversion of edits related to the member's positions in the group, if kprofiles isn't reliable enough as a source, would primary resources be better? Also, where would it be best to place more information about XG's musical identity and impact, as there isn't specifically a lot on the page currently corresponding to that besides non descript genre markers, and the information I added was all removed for unreliable resources, which resources would be best specifically about their music style and aesthetic sensibility? Thank you for reading this message, hopefully you will respond with helpful information :) Velvetvivi (talk) 09:16, 8 June 2023 (UTC)

Surinamese charts revert
Hello, I think you made a mistake because in this case there is no other archive of charts from Suriname from this period. As proof that they are real, you can compare the Top 5 charts published on the official Facebook profile, which coincides with each week from the blog. Probably the top 40 was only available on the official site during a given week and then archived only on this blog, hence there is no other source for the top 40 from that period. Take into account that the Nationale Top 40 is reliable. Szyign (talk) 14:49, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- Then use an archive of the official site. Blogs are not reliable sources per WP:USERGENERATED Lightoil (talk) 12:54, 8 July 2023 (UTC)

Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information. For more information about the columns and categories, please consult the documentation and please get in touch on SuggestBot's talk page with any questions you might have.
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from Nettrom (talk), SuggestBot's caretaker. -- SuggestBot (talk) 05:32, 11 July 2023 (UTC)

BP Request
Hi Lightoil, a while ago you said I could make direct edits to the BP article. I really don't feel comfortable doing that. Even when Arturo at BP suggested content on the Talk page of articles in the past, in accordance with Wikipedia's own rules, it became a topic of conversation in the press. To ensure BP is operating in a way that is most comfortable for everyone, I would like to refrain from any direct edits to articles. Would you consider making the changes in that request on my behalf? I'd really appreciate it! Vishal BP (talk) 11:08, 20 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Vishal BP please edit the page yourself, I already gave you the go ahead. You are not breaking any Wikipedia rules, there is nothing stopping you from making the changes you requested. Lightoil (talk) 11:54, 20 July 2023 (UTC)
TIBCO acquisitions
Hello, Lightoil! I've proposed a rewrite (replacing bullets with prose) of the Acquisitions section at Talk:TIBCO_Software#Acquisitions_section. Given your willingness to review the "Historical products" request, I was wondering if you might be able to review this request as well. Thanks for your consideration, Inkian Jason (talk) 16:26, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Inkian Jason you forgot to add {{Edit COI}} to your request and I have done so for you. Please wait someone will eventually answer your request. Lightoil (talk) 02:59, 1 August 2023 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – August 2023
News and updates for administrators from the past month (July 2023).
Interface administrator changes
- The tag filter on Special:NewPages and revision history pages can now be inverted. This allows hiding edits made by automated tools. (T334338)
- Special:BlockedExternalDomains is a new tool that allows easier blocking of plain domains (and their subdomains). This is more easily searchable and is faster for the software to use than the existing MediaWiki:Spam-blacklist. It does not support regex (for complex cases), URL path-matching, or the MediaWiki:Spam-whitelist. (T337431)
- The arbitration cases named Scottywong and AlisonW closed 10 July and 16 July respectively.
- The SmallCat dispute arbitration case is in the workshop phase.
New page reviewer granted
Hi Lightoil. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group. Please check back at the permissions page in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page or ask via the NPP Discord. In addition, please remember:
- Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
- If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
- Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Steps such as checking for copyright violations using Earwig's copyright violation detector, checking for duplicate articles, and evaluating sources (both in the article, and if needed, via a Google search) for compliance with the general notability guideline are mandatory and will take a few minutes per article.
- Please review some of our flowcharts (1, 2) to help ensure you don't forget any required steps.
- Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies. signed, Rosguill talk 03:34, 9 August 2023 (UTC)

I reverted your undos re the Japanese names edits. We don’t use katakana to transcribe native Japanese names—that is reserved for foreign names and Japanese people who moved overseas. NM 12:33, 13 August 2023 (UTC)

- Using hiragana for native Japanese name is such a common knowledge that this is probably WP:BLUE. If you want more, here’s another native speaker answering that “no, we don’t write katakana for native names”:
名前をカタカナで書く人はほとんどいません ひらがなか、漢字が普通です
. Katakana is reserved for foreign names (外国の地名や人の名まえ), foreign terms (外国からきたことば) and onomatopoeia (ものの音やどうぶつの鳴き声). NM 14:01, 13 August 2023 (UTC)

Page mover granted
Hello, Lightoil. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, move subpages when moving the parent page(s), and move category pages.
Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving a redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect
is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.
Useful links:
- Wikipedia:Requested moves
- Category:Requested moves, for article renaming requests awaiting action.
If you do not want the page mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! Primefac (talk) 08:18, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
