Groupe Livre Québecor Média moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Groupe Livre Québecor Média, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your draft article, Draft:Groupe Livre Québecor Média
[edit]Hello, Headmate. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Groupe Livre Québecor Média".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Deletion discussion about Les Éditions CEC
[edit]Hello Headmate, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Les Éditions CEC, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Les Éditions CEC.
Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Cabrils}}
. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

[edit]Hello Headmate. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Headmate. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Headmate|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. signed, Rosguill talk 15:54, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
- I have not really edited all that much. The articles which I "made" and were subsequently deleted, being Les Éditions CEC and Groupe Livre Québecor Média were actually TRANSLATED from the French Wikipedia, and I have no involvement with said companies. I had simply assumed that the articles were fine due to the fact that they were/are on the French Wikipedia and have been for a long time now (Les Éditions CEC: 01:47, 16 November 2015) (Groupe Livre Québecor Média: 23:49, 11 March 2014). I was not aware that the articles were promotional in any way, and I feel that if this standard is applied to the English Wikipedia's versions of the same articles, they should also be applied to the French Wikipedia's articles. Because I did not add any new text, aside from translating already existing text from French to English. If these are not the specific edits which are the cause of this problem, then I would like to know which ones are, so I may respond to them. I have no financial incentive when translating Wikipedia articles or editing said articles. The reason why I have not responded to this message for this long is due to the fact I have not been on Wikipedia all that often recently, and so never saw the notice. - Am I currently allowed to edit or am I still unable to? I have yet to receive a response to my original message so I am therefore unsure if I am currently allowed to edit on Wikipedia. If I am able to edit, I will make sure to be more careful when translating articles from French to English and vice versa to be certain that the source articles are compliant with Wikipedia's standards. However, if the response is negative, then I understand and will cease to edit on Wikipedia until further notice from Wikipedia's staff team. I also apologize for my defensiveness in my first reply to your message, and hope we can come to a peaceful resolution. I will gladly respond to any inquiries if you or the rest of the Wikipedia staff team have them. I have also read up a bit more on Wikipedia's standards on both the French and English Wikipedias, and disagree with a few points I made in my last response, specifically the "if this standard is applied to the English Wikipedia's versions of the same articles, they should also be applied to the French Wikipedia's articles" part, since the English and French Wikipedias seemingly have some different standards, but feel free to correct me on that if I'm wrong.
