New Zealand Listener Power List
I update this list only when the Listener puts it online. I do have a copy of the physical magazine, but it seems reasonable to wait until they make it freely available.
Since they have divided the list into a general list of 10 and several more specialised lists, I plan to update the list on Wikipedia using only the general list of 10.-gadfium 08:47, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
Problems with upload of File:Clare-curran-mppage.jpg.bin.jpeg
Thanks for uploading File:Clare-curran-mppage.jpg.bin.jpeg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

Orphaned non-free image (File:McGlashan.jpg)
You've uploaded File:McGlashan.jpg, and indicated that it's used under Wikipedia's rules for non-free images. However, it's not presently used in any articles. Wikipedia policy requires that non-free images be either used or deleted, so if this image isn't used in an article in the next week, it will be deleted.
This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 06:43, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for File:Tony veitch d.jpg}
Thank you for uploading File:Tony veitch d.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. File copyright problem with File:Annette King.jpeg
Thank you for uploading File:Annette King.jpeg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. FASTILY (TALK) 03:52, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Maryan Street.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Maryan Street.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
The licence you provide is not supported by the link (that I added) which shows a no-derivative creative commons licence that is incompatible with this wiki. ww2censor (talk) 04:02, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

MP photos
Hi. You might not be aware of Wikipedia:WikiProject New Zealand/Content task force which includes a big bit about getting photos of MPs. I'll create a section there for the current parliamant. - SimonLyall (talk) 06:03, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
Deleting photos
Hi there
I am deleting those picture you copied from NZ Labour, as this web site does not allow derivatives, and Wikipedia requires that derivatives are allowed. Either you can get that copyright notice updated on the originating web site, or perhaps you can get new pictures! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:06, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for that heads up, I was unaware that these pictures were not allowed on wikimedia sites so have now begun the process of deleting them from the pages. Unfortunetly there are no free alternatives out there so we (New Zealand Wikipedians) will have to try and contact the orginal MPs, Thanks for your helptshiels1 (talk) 22:59, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
- One approach could be to contact the politicians and see if they do have a picture that they can release under the free-er license. One thing they may fear is parodies of the images, whereas the modifications/derivatives you may see on Wikipedia are improving the appearance, inclusion in a collage or cropping. Or other wise some one could ask to photograph them, see if you fit into a busy schedule. For my own pictures I have photographed some politicians at public events. I have photographed two prime ministers, but the quality is not good enough to be used! However I do have the ACT leader of the opposition, ACT attorney general , and Premier of Tasmania photo in use. The original nominator should have warned you before I did! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 01:51, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! Shall endeavor to call some MPs tomorrow!tshiels1 (talk) 07:46, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
