RIP

[edit]

Only discovered Kittybrewster's passing, now. So sad, when we lose an editor this way. :( GoodDay (talk) 02:42, 25 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@MusikAnimal:, KB passed away in Oct 2021. GoodDay (talk) 02:43, 25 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to hear that :( I could code the bot to ignore users in Category:Deceased Wikipedians, but that feels a bit morbid... Also in this case there was a bug and User:Kittybrewster wasn't actually categorized, which I've now fixed. MusikAnimal talk 03:47, 25 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@MusikAnimal:, morbid, possibly, but still preferable to posting bot notices to the pages of deceased Wikipedians? BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 10:11, 25 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well, fortunately there aren't very many… The normal procedure is to use {{nobots}}, I'll just have the bot honor that. I noticed this along with the other normal steps following a deceased Wikipedian have not been done. Kittybrewster is not listed at Wikipedia:Deceased Wikipedians. Pining Charles01 who reported the death. Could you have a look at Wikipedia:Deceased Wikipedians/Guidelines? MusikAnimal talk 17:31, 25 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Just heard

[edit]

Oh my gosh, this is terrible. I worked with Kittybrewster, specifically on Arbuthnot-related material, some years ago, and he was a fine editor. RIP Kittybrewster. Herostratus (talk) 00:20, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
