This officer was a Hero of the Soviet Union and an Honoured Military Pilot of the Russian Federation who also commanded the Air Forces of the Moscow Military District. Might you put the article on your translation list for action at some point? Buckshot06 (talk) 20:47, 13 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Buckshot06: I will probably create the article very soon. Antoshkin appears to be a very interesting biography, and he'd be the first Chernobyl-related HSU award that I've written an article for. Kges1901 (talk) 23:11, 13 April 2016 (UTC)
Thanks!
[edit]Wanted to drop you a line and thank you for finding Cecil Harris' Air Medal citation. I've never been able to put eyes on that book because it's in Snippet view on Google and the closest library that has it is 50 miles away! You rock! Finktron (talk) 11:47, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Finktron - Actually, I haven't seen the book either. But if one searches Cecil Harris air medal in google books, the excerpt comes up. It has to be referring Harris because there are no ellipsis between "His decorations included the Navy Cross, two Silver Stars, three DFCs, and three Air Medals. " and "Remaining in the Navy, Harris...". Most likely the book doesn't contain the actual citation, but adds proof of the Air Medal that doesn't come (at least directly) from the newspapers.
