Speedy deletion nomination of Kappa rho kappa
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Kappa rho kappa requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Hghyux (talk) 21:11, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
Greetings, I am a brother of Alpha Phi Omega and an experienced editor especially of pages related to Fraternities and Sororities. I'd like to help get the page about Kappa Rho Kappa to be as good as it can be. There will need to be sources other than those directly created by Kappa Rho Kappa, for example, I'm adding one from Zamboanga Today. Please feel free to ask any questions that you might have. Also, I've commented out the categories in the version of the page on your User page, User pages should not be used as a replacement for articles. I'm moving your userpage to User:Jobads23/sandbox2.Naraht (talk) 16:12, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

Kappa Rho Kappa response...
[edit]OK, what needs to be improved on the wikipedia page *about* Kappa Rho Kappa... I've dealt a lot with situations where brothers of a fraternity X in the Philippines want to have a fraternity X wikipedia page. First comment is to *please* read the Wikipedia rules on Ownership, Conflict of Interest. Ideally, someone reading the Kappa Rho Kappa article wouldn't be able to tell if it was written by a Kappa Rho Kappa brother, a Zeta Phi Omega brother, an Aquila Legis brother or even someone from England.
The other major issue is Reliable Sources. In order of attractiveness, sources basically go,
- Things written by neutral parties especially books, newspapers and magazines
- Your national website preferably in its own domain
- Things written on pages on Facebook, Ning or other similar pages.
If the article could be entirely written from information referenced from news articles from zamboangatoday.com and knightsoftherightkeepers.org (will that be official when the domain is paid for?), then it almost certainly would stay.
Take a look at Aquila Legis, while that article still has a few issues (Wikipedia shouldn't be used as a reference), it talks relatively neutrally about Aquila Legis, including things that are negative (the hazing death). While perhaps that takes up too much of the article, it probably should be handled by adding more things about the history or current practices of Aquila Legis. (I'm not using Alpha Phi Omega as an example, APO-Philippines should probably be more cleanly split off into its own article rather than History of Alpha Phi Omega in the Philippines)
(also, what was with 1000 chapters in Malaysia)Naraht (talk) 15:28, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
KRK response additional...
[edit]In terms of Malaysia, the question is Verifiability. Is there any source from outside the KRK membership that can be referenced (even if it isn't electronic) that would have this information?Naraht (talk) 20:34, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
Do you have any idea what page it is on there and whether it is expected to come back up?Naraht (talk) 21:16, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 21:04, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
The article Kappa Rho Kappa has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Article is not neutral. Needs sources and better facts.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hghyux (talk) 21:56, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Hghyux (talk) 22:01, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
Kappa Rho Kappa deleted
[edit]Hi jobads23! I just wanted to let you know that your article "Kappa Rho Kappa" has been deleted because administrators felt that during the 7 day period in which you had to improve the article, that little change was made to improve the neutrality and sourcing. If you would like to re-create the article feel free. But please note that after re-creating an article that gets deleted too many times as is the case with Kappa Rho Kappa, it may get salted. This means that you will not be able to re-create it ever again. So please be careful. If you have any questions then contact me on my talk page or go to the help desk. Thanks. Proposed blackout in protest of RA 10175
[edit]Dear Jobads23,
Greetings!
As a Filipino Wikipedian, I hope you are aware of the passage of Republic Act No. 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, which was signed into law by President Benigno Aquino III on September 12, 2012. Currently, there is a discussion on the Tambayan, the noticeboard for Philippines-related topics, about a proposed blackout of the English Wikipedia in the Philippines in order to protest the passage of RA 10175, similar to the blackout against SOPA and PIPA held earlier this year. I feel that your input on the subject will definitely help in the discussion.
Please feel free to participate in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Tambayan Philippines#The Cybercrime Prevention Act, and I hope your input will help the Filipino Wikipedia community determine which is the best course of action against this law. Similarly, we hope to get as much input from as many Wikipedians as possible.
Thank you and maraming salamat po!
Kind regards,
